Capo Bay Hotel, Protaras Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close! ...We stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel, which stands on the Fig Tree Bay in the resort of Protaras. It is one hours drive from Larnaca Airport. (I will reveiw Protaras as a resort separately. This review is solely on the Capo Bay Hotel). The hotel was fantastic. It is 4star hotel and the service and facilities are great. The Capo Bay hotel has 225 rooms over 4 floors and was built in 1985. It offers a gymnasium with massage and jacuzzi, tennis, scuba ... ...evenings, but there is the Capo Greco Restaurant, the Aquarium Bar, The Parasol Poolside Bar, and the New Pavillion Restaurant and the Bella Vista Restaurant. Food is served from 11am to 10pm. Other residents stated that the food was fantastic. SWIMMING POOLS +++++++++++++++ There are two swimming pools, one is heated. One has bridges over it and a waterfall and water cannon and the other one is heated and is just a straightforward pool. One of the finest hotels in Cyprus Advantages: Luxury, quality, good food, relaxed atmosphere Disadvantages: Very busy with wedding parties at peak season This has to be one of the finest hotels on the island. Its design is ancient Greek and Roman. The rooms are amazing, very comfortable, huge beds most of the rooms have great views but there is a section where you are looking over waste ground, not a pretty sight to wake up to! You usually have to pre book sea view rooms by the way and thats a definite during high season. The food is great too lots of choices and excellent quality. The bar off the ... ...non residents, it has a relaxing atmosphere and the service is very good....drinks etc are a bit pricey but then you are in a 5 star hotel! Very popular for weddings as you can imagine with both locals and tourists alike, busiest times are from June through to September. The hotel is located right on the beach so you wont have far to walk for a dip! It also has a well established spa, popular with residents and the more affluent locals. ... A stunning hotel and location! Advantages: stunning accomodation and service Disadvantages: expensive!!!! The Columbia Beach Resort to look at is made of stone and wood and looks very grand. There are bellboys who will take your luggage and welcome drinks when you arrive! The resort has a spa which includes a gym, sauna, jacuzzi and plunge pools as well as both indoor and outdoor pools and a pool for toddlers and young children. It also has access to the small pebbley/sandy beach. The pools are freshwater and not heated oor is heated from November. The ... ...lovely and were interconnecting for our children. We had a massive square bath and a big shower in EACH ROOM as well as a superking bed. The rooms were made up by housekeeping TWICE each day and everywhere and everything kept very clean. There is also wifi in your room. As for the food WELL where do i start! Its amazing! A Beautiful Traditional Greek Mill Advantages: Fantastic Situation, old world charm and good food Disadvantages: A Bit off the Beaten Track - will neeed a car ...while we were heading for the village of Troodos and decided that it was time to stop as the evening was closing in and we hadn't found any suitable accommodation. The road left would have taken us into Troodos but we took the right turning to Kyperounda and followed the hilly road down the mountain. If you take the left turn at the bridge you will enter the village of Kakopetria. This is where the Mill Hotel is situated and what an unusual sight ... ...sight when looking up to the top floor. The building has been renovated as originally the old Mill stopped working in the 1950's as milling became expensive and imported flour became available. This led to the mill closing down and eventually it fell into disrepair until it was bought by private owners. On the beach, value for money hotel Advantages: Location, service, food Disadvantages: Few extra facilities If you are looking for a relaxed holiday with not too many frills then the Ledra Beach is for you. Its a friendly and inviting hotel with excellent food I have to say.....probably one of the best advantages of this hotel. The accommodation is a little tired but nontheless comfortable and clean. An animation team keep you entertained day and night with a few outside acts a couple of times a week. Aqua aerobics, childrens games, quizzes keep you ... ...holiday and we had no complaints whatsover with the choice, variety and quality of food, it has to be one of the best menus on the island in any hotel! For breakfast you can choose to have a British fry up, healthy cereals and yogurts, fresh fruits or a more continental style breakfast of fresh cheeses, hams etc. Juices, coffee, tea all included of course.
