We stayed at this Hotel 2 years ago and I would certainly give it more than a One Star rating as it has in the Product Listing.
This hotel is very well located if you are using either the Easyjet or Ryanair Buses from the Ciampano Airport. They drop off near the Railway Station, so also good if arriving in Rome by Train.
The buses actually drop off on the Oposite side of the station, so you will need to go past the front of the station, cross the Road and continue down one of the roads with the station at your back, you soon come to Carlo Alberto the road the Hotel is in. There is a very large Church at the end of the Road, Santa Maria Maggiore so if stuck ask for directions to this Church, the locals are more likely to know this.
The Hotel has a small lobby but very helpful friendly staff. There seems to be quite a few nice DEEP LEATHER chairs to sit about in if your room is not quite ready.
We found the rooms very good, beds comfortable, bathrooms very good. Try and get rooms that open onto the front. Lovely view of the church and Via Carlo Alberto is quite a pleasant street for people watching.
Breakfast at this Hotel was above the normal Italian offering. it was on a Decked area but covered, so OK in most weathers. The choice was quite good but I can recommend the CHOCOLATE AU PAIN. And of course Italians certainly know how to make Coffee.
For the TEA Ladies amongst you, My Wife and Sister in Law Found a Little Tea Shop across the Road with a delightful Old Waiter (Marco) who supplied their needs for an afternoon Tea on return from our trips.
There is a Park at the oposite end of the Street to the Church which we found quite pleasant.
Location as said is great for the Station, and in front of the station is the Bus Station where you can catch buses to most parts of Rome. Of course the Bus runs from here direct to St Peters for the Vatican Etc. Be very vigilant on this Bus , as it is popular with Tourists it is also popular with EXPERT PICK POCKETS. So keep valuables close to your body and not on display and do not let go of your bags.
We found that from the Hotel it is not that far to walk to most of the Atractions, Colosiium etc, as with most old cities, they are not that big.
There are many Restaurants in the Area best consult LETS GO, ROUGH GUIDE Etc. One we like is Monti Archi which is about 25 mins walk from the Hotel, last time we were there the Hotel Staff rang the Restaurant and booked it for us, helpful staff.
It has a Wood Fired Pizza Oven but has extensive Menu as well, The staff are Friendly, and boisterious, but the Rose the Lady gets at the end is beautiful. Also if you have Ice Cream with a spirit on it they seem to nearly empty the bottle on to it.
So to sum up the Hotel 3 to 4 star. Comfortable Clean Rooms. Good Bathrooms. great Breakfast Locations. Good Views from Front Rooms. Nice Tea Room Oposite. Good location if Arriving by Train or Airport Buses.
