Advantages: Close to Historical Landmarks, Friendly Staff, Good Rooms, Stylish Disadvantages: Expensive Breakfast, Some parts need Refurbishment
...pass through, Lincoln doesn't feel touristy at all but I may simply be saying this as I am not visiting in-season and the city isn't exactly teeming with life at the moment.
Just outside reception is the typical leaflet shelf with various attractions and there seems to be a few things to do in Lincoln. Just outside my room is a fantastic view of the cathedral which I will be putting up a picture of when I get back. There's also the Lincoln Castle as well as an exhibition which will take you to look at the Magna Carta (only 4 in the UK). It's quite a historic town with predominantly older, but beautiful buildings which fit in very well. The cathedral is awe-inspiring, as well as the castle. It's a great place to take a few pictures but it looks tremendous at night. Within walking distance is a street of shops, but to reach it you must...

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: Disgusting service and breakfast !
...I have heard the phrase 'Cheap and Cheerful' or 'You get what you pay for' but the Lincoln Arms Hotel, Dorking takes the biscuit.

2) In the room we were given four small towels barley big enough to cover a butt cheek! They were frayed a worn and greying in colour. The room was clean but very shabby with none of the duvet covers matching. Our TV had no reception and was placed high upon a tall wardrobe so we could not adjust it. The bathroom was tiny...

Advantages: Lots of history Disadvantages: Admission charges

Prior to this visit I had only ever been here once before, although I was quite young and I don't remember a great deal about it.
There is a charge to enter Lincoln Cathedral, something that I found quite surprising, although this charge is seemingly justified by the fact that the upkeep of this place is £50,000 per week.
The current admission charges are...
