Danau Maninjau (Sumatra)

Now I would like to tell you a lake in west sumatra , Indonesia. The name of the lake is Maninjau' means to view. It is located near Bukittinggi, a city in west sumatra. It is about 2 hours drive from Padang, a capital of West Sumatra Province. To reach Maninjau Lake you can go by private or public bus. You will pass the famous Kelok 44 or 44 hairpin bends to Maninjau.

The people of maninjau calls the lake Crystal Lake, as the lake looks like crystal. The crystal lake offers tranquility and many accomodation scattered among the lake. The lake have 400 m depth and there is a small island in the centre of the lake.

You can do swimming , fishing, canoing in the lake. You can enjoy padang spicy food there. It is easy to reach the place . It takes 2 hours from Minangkabau airport by public bus.
