Advantages: Screenplay.Good performances.Brilliant visuals Disadvantages: Too long!
Bhansali makes it in the most grandest of ways.
It is the complexities and nuances of the characters that make Devdas what it is. But the sheer fact that the characters have been seen before on screen does reduce its impact on the audience. All the three characters are played finely by the actors, Madhuri dixit taking the spotlight with a memorable act. THe climax of the film will remain with you forever and i won't be surprised if you are in tears. Art direction and costumes deserve a special mention, so does the music director Ismail darbar who recreates the era.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a master filmmaker and he shows his talent here(though i wish he made something more original) ...

Devdas one of the higgest money grosser movie India plus it was highest paid soundtrack. The songs of this movie were huge hits.
The Music is given by Ismail Darbar & the lyrics written by Nusrat Badr and he was a newcomer. Devdas is a period film and considering this the soundtrack of this movie is brilliant.
Shreya Ghosal a singer also made her debut in indiam film industry by singing songs in this movie.
The tracks are as follows -
1) Silsila Yeh Chahat Ka na mene bhujne diya - This song is about a girl who is waiting for her lover, the music & lyrics are very good it just catches you. this is sung by Shreya Ghosal and she has done a splendid job.
2) Maar Dala - Picturised on Madhuri Dixit and sung by Kavita Krishnamurty is also an important song in the soundtrack. Its a mujra song. Again a great Music.
3)Beri Piya ...
We tried and tested many restaurants in North Goa near Baga.
Deli Darbar - Panjim
An exclusive restaurant which was recommended by our First Choice rep and also our Taxi driver. It is located in the capital city of Goa in Panjim (aka Panaji). Once outside, you are greeted by a doorman dressed in a very authentic suit that reminded me of indian guards with a turban and long white moustache. The decor inside is very posh with rich golds and reds in the seating fabrics and red drapes on the walls. In the far back is the brightly lit bar where the drinks are served from. I clearly remember the large bottle of whiskey sitting on the counter, a blue light feature and wine glasses hanging from the ceiling.
The choice of food and drinks in the menu is vast. We were spoilt for choice and not knowing when we were going to come again ...
