Days Hotel Broadway, New York City

Advantages: Location - central to theatres, Times Square
Disadvantages: Bustling noisy location may not suit all

...Milford Plaza is in an excellent location if you want to enjoy the sights and sounds of downtown New York. Situated right next to Times Square, it is ideal for the Broadway shows or just to enjoy the hustle and bustle of New York life. On first entering the hotel, it may seem like the Milford has seen better days, but for the price the accommodation is good, clean and ideal. Rooms could be bigger, but in New York space seems to be a premium - and you won't be spending a lot of time there. Compared to many hotels in New York, the Milford Plaza is very good. The staff are helpful and there is definately that New York feel about the place. Like anywhere in NY - or most of the States for that matter - the hotel is room only, so don't expect a slap up breakfast to go with it. ...Located in an ideal location in Midtown Manhattan (W.33rd Street between 5th Avenue and Broadway), The Wolcott is a perfect base for a first trip to Manhattan, only blocks away from Macy's, the Empire State Building and the New York Library. Although not the most luxurious of hotels, the rooms are comfortable and provide what is needed for those on a budget, or those who would prefer to spend their money in Bloomingdales! Each room comes with ensuite bathroom, TV, telephone and air conditioning. For guests who are feeling fit after a day's shopping, the hotel also has a small but adequate fitness center. For the rest of us, there are vending machines for late-night drinks and snacks, located in the basement!... Read review

Advantages: Clean, Brilliantly situated, not too expensive for NYC
Disadvantages: Smallish rooms, could find better for the price? pesty cleaners, noisy airconditioner

...The Time Hotel is situated on 49th st, just of Broadway and right near Times Square. It is a 4 star hotel which has a very modern feel to it. It includes a restaurant, but it was quite expensive, so I didn't eat there. The rooms are not the biggest (but then you don't get large rooms in new york!). It includes what you would expect from a 4 star hotel, Cable TV, Air conditioning, safe. We even got the New York Times Newspaper every morning (hanging on our doorhandle outside). The room was very clean, and was cleaned every day while we was out, and they also came round again of an evening (just to see if it needing anymore cleaning), which was a little annoying as we was always preparing to go out again when they knocked. It was definitely a business class hotel, of which were in the "lounge" all the time with their Laptop... Read review
