Little Bridgend

Advantages: Better than the Valley's
Disadvantages: Town centre losing its shops

Being perfectly honest, you may have travelled through Bridgend and never realised it-the memorable place that it is! Situated between Cardiff and Swansea, Bridgend really doesnt have that much to offer. The town centre itself has suffered from the opening and further expansion of the McArthur Glen Designer Village, which was built about 3 years ago, just off the motorway junction in Sarn. The Centre At present, work is just being completed to fully pave the newly pedestrianised main shopping areas. In this area, you'll find many, many sports shops and mobile phone shops, and little else! We also have the usual handful of chain stores-Boots,Barrats,Woolworths,WHSmiths and Topshop. Within the Rhiw 'shopping centre', there is small indoor market, and a few more sports shops. Parking for the town centre can be quite expensive, but ...

Review of Bridgend in General

Short review of Bridgend

Advantages: Growing size
Disadvantages: not too much for tourists in bridgend itself.

Bridgend is a medium sized town situated between Cardiff and Swansea in South Wales, in the county also named Bridgend. In this county there are two other main towns, Maesteg and Porwthcawl, Porthcawl being the beach resort and Maesteg being a valleys town set among mountains and forests. This unique location gives Bridgend close to country, city and sea and perhaps is why it has grown so much in the past 30 years, taking the population from 20, 000 to more around 50, 000/60, 000. Bridgend in general has quite a good in-town shopping centre, though this hasn't been helped by the out of town shopping/entertainment complex "McArthur Glen" which has seen many big brands draw there. The town of Bridgend itself is deifnitly not a tourist town, however, it's a decent place to live ...

My Stay In Holiday Inn , Cardiff

Advantages: Convenient , efficient staff
Disadvantages: none

Recently I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Cardiff. This was my third stay. What an ideal place to stay. Situated next door to the Millenium Stadium ; bedroom window overlooking the stadium. 10 Minute walk from the railway station. On arrival we were checked in efficiently and professionally. Our room was cleaned to a high standard and we felt very welcome. The following day we had to leave early as we had an appointment and therefore I enquired in the restaurant about what time breakfast was. I was told breakfast began at 7:30 because it was Sunday. I asked if we could have breakfast earlier. In reply I was asked what time we would like to have breakfast. I couldn't believe it , having stayed in places where people were less helpful! Eventually we decided on 6:30 which I thought was a real exception as some of the staff had to ...
