Haverhill, is a medium sized town in Suffolk. Nestling on both the boundaries of Cambridgeshire and Essex, it is also just around 60 miles from the capital city of the England - London. It's sister town of Bury st Edmunds is just about 16 miles away, while the horse racing capital of Newmarket is a similar distance. The city of Cambridge is around 18 miles away. Essex is also very close; in fact you can walk within minutes to the Essex and Cambridgeshire borders - depending of course where you are in the town. A few miles up the road in a small village is the prison in which Myra Hindley is now staying "Highpoint". There is some lovely countryside around the town, which in itself is worth a visit.
The town has around 25,000 occupants (growing), many of whom commute between both Cambridge and London daily.

My friend and I stayed at the DaysInn in Niagara for two nights in May at the start of our tour round Eastern Canada. We?d booked this as part of our Globespan holiday so I don?t know how efficient the booking process was. We breathed a sigh of relief as our bus finally pulled up outside the hotel (our flight had been delayed quite a bit so neither of us was in the best of form by this stage!). I?d heard great things about the friendliness of the Canadian race from friends who had been to Canada before so was expecting a nice warm welcome from the hotel staff ? you?d expect those in the hospitality ...
Advantages: Well located; reasonably priced rooms; large beds Disadvantages: Not much in the way of hotel facilities
advertised as being within easy walking distance of the pacific coast, but I didn't feel they were worth the inflated price as we mainly wanted a base from which to explore, rather than an all singing all dancing resort. We came to choose this motel because it ticked all our boxes. It also had a choice of room sizes, from suites to what they call single kingsized bedrooms.
~ The location ~
The DaysInn Santa Monica is situated on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Stanford Street, with the pedestrian entrance being in the Boulevard. If like us, you're driving here, you have to drive past the motel and turn into Stanford Street and then make a right into the motel car park. There are about ten spaces here, with plenty of others underground. The Santa Monica Boulevard seemed to be one of the busiest roads in the area, with this ...
