Paradise missed! (Or so it would seem)

Advantages: Rich historical and archaeological as well as cultural country
Disadvantages: Not many for tourists, but slightly expensive

and artefacts, especially in Southern Lebanon, has been a constant stab in the heart of scholars eager to learn more about this fascinating ancient civilisation. Education is the key, but poverty can be a worse killer than ignorance. We know that the Phoenicians were excellent seafarers who travelled extensively and sold their merchandise to the most prominent other civilisations of the time (and far beyond, if some recent findings are to be believed). They are also known to have invented the first alphabet, but again, this is a topic for a separate review and I cannot pretend my knowledge to be so extensive as to allow me to do that. One day perhaps? I have raised this point as you may meet many Lebanese who will tell you that they do not consider themselves as Arabs. They are Phoenicians. Indeed, their blood is most certainly forever ...

lebanon how wonderful are you

Advantages: lovely people,taste for everything,lovely places,very different
Disadvantages: none

well its along story my husbands lebanese and comes from near the end of lebanon tyr i've been to lebanon 6 times in the past 5 years we've been married over 5 years and everytime i go back theres allways something new to find there my 1st time i fount people so king and wonderful and a different way of life my second time was when i got married it was such an amazeing thing i stayed in tyr with my husband to be's family for just over 7 months while i was there i learnt to speak arabic worked in a school as a teacher for a few months and saw many wonderful things meet all different kinds of people and lebanon used to allways get negative press saying that theres war and whenever people ever ask they still allways say is there still war going on and of course not people don't know until they go to lebanon see for themselfs what its like ...

Two Days at the Days Inn

Advantages: Location, cheap
Disadvantages: Staff

My friend and I stayed at the Days Inn in Niagara for two nights in May at the start of our tour round Eastern Canada. We?d booked this as part of our Globespan holiday so I don?t know how efficient the booking process was. The hotel was three star and we certainly didn?t pay over the odds for our stay, although I don?t know exactly how much we paid. Arrival We arrived at the Days Inn at around 3am Canada time, or 8am according to our body clocks! We breathed a sigh of relief as our bus finally pulled up outside the hotel (our flight had been delayed quite a bit so neither of us was in the best of form by this stage!). I?d heard great things about the friendliness of the Canadian race from friends who had been to Canada before so was expecting a nice warm welcome from the hotel staff ? you?d expect those in the hospitality ...
