Advantages: welcoming, clean, central Disadvantages: restaurant price
As mentioned in my last review, I was recently on a trip to Dublin. The main part of my holiday apart from experiencing the city is to me the accommodation. I have been to many hotels but not all I would return to although I have to say I cannot fault the Jury's Inn Parnell Street. A hotel is of course where I stay and want to be in a good location. I have heard of Jury's Inn's because I know where I live in Edinburgh they have them and I have heard positive things about them.
Only going away for a short break I was looking for something quite cheap but not to the extent of hostel cheap. The rating for this hotel was 3 stars which is what I will always start at and no lower. The website was where I booked it and everything was easy to navigate. Going with friends I wanted a triple and it asks if you want three single beds or a double ...
Advantages: The Location Disadvantages: Lighting in room, view
as good as Jurys Inn, Parnell Street.
Ease of getting there--> Getting to the hotel from the airport was very easy, I would suggest the air-link bus, as I believe it's called. It costs 6 euros, we bought our ticket from a machine while queuing as we didn't know if they would accept notes and if they were able to change them as I had read the 'normal' everyday buses don't carry change and that if you need change the driver gives you a ticket and then you go to some other place to get the change, (this is help stop the drivers being robbed). Getting the ticket from the machine guaranteed you your change and it was also a 1 day rambler ticket which meant you could use it to get on buses for the rest of the day if you wished. The air-link bus stops at different points, but for us it stopped at the top of Upper O'Connell Street, were we got ...
Advantages: Well located; reasonably priced rooms; large beds Disadvantages: Not much in the way of hotel facilities
advertised as being within easy walking distance of the pacific coast, but I didn't feel they were worth the inflated price as we mainly wanted a base from which to explore, rather than an all singing all dancing resort. We came to choose this motel because it ticked all our boxes. It also had a choice of room sizes, from suites to what they call single kingsized bedrooms.
~ The location ~
The DaysInn Santa Monica is situated on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Stanford Street, with the pedestrian entrance being in the Boulevard. If like us, you're driving here, you have to drive past the motel and turn into Stanford Street and then make a right into the motel car park. There are about ten spaces here, with plenty of others underground. The Santa Monica Boulevard seemed to be one of the busiest roads in the area, with this ...
