Well now that my reviews for Chicago and Las Vegas have been completed I guess its time to move onto my third stop, don't worry only two more stops after this, in what was an amazing summer. The next leg of my journey took me to the state capital of Washington DC. The roots of American democracy and the political capital of the world. This was actually my last stop before coming back home, however I just felt like writing about this now. I had pre booked my ticket to DC whilst I was in London with American Airlines from Chicago; it set me back about £150, which for a peak time in mid July was not bad what so ever. Having stayed in DC for a week this review will focus more on the sights and places I visited, if I forget to mention the obvious places to see its because I didn't really go their and I therefore don't see the need to mention ...
Advantages: Cheap, ok location, pool, restaurant Disadvantages: Not a super high quality hotel to start with, and definitely worn in places
Currently living in the US, I am contracted to work only 32 hours a week to give me plenty of time to explore my local area and beyond. Many trips have been booked, and the first of these took place last weekend when I spent 4 days in Washington D.C.. I booked in to the DaysInn because it was the cheapest hotel I could find ? I do do budget but as my last but one accommodation op can testify, I don?t do hostels, so this was the cheapest I could go.

The DaysInn is not really in D.C., but then most of the affordable hotels aren?t. Instead, it?s just outside the city limits in Arlington, Virginia. Handily the subway goes all the way out there and beyond (far beyond in fact ? the orange line claims to end in Vienna?) so getting there sans car is not a problem. Camas, is set amongst the masses of conifers and redwoods growing on the mountains behind, that flow endlessly through Washington State, where even the widest roads still make their way between the towering redwood giants. East along the river you come to Washougal a small town in the mountains, where the place to dance the American Jive, drink the local beer, listening to the local band, or even have a great game of base ball, in the field beyond . The Homestead, a lovely venue, right in the middle of nowhere was the inn place to be.
