Advantages: inexpensive, easy to find, same standard everywhere, good standard of comfort Disadvantages: no variety
I had to go to Bristol a few days ago and tried to get a hotel booking at short notice-hoping to go on the train. If I drive, it takes ma a good 4 hours on the motorway and you can't really relax like you can on the train. Anyway, there were no hotels available at a reasonable price so I decided that I had to drive.
The next issue was where to stay if I did. The M5 has several service stations and I had stayed at Michaelwood services previously. I hadn't tried Gordano, so I logged onto the Laterooms website and looked at the rooms available- success! There was an executive room on the night I wanted so I rang laterooms and booked it.

The apartments, I have stayed in 3 different ones are mixed with fully residential units.
The apartments are all different, but share the same basic concept, TV DVD Stereo, 2 sofas, dining table plus kitchen bedrooms and bathrooms. Most have a balcony and quite good views of the city. There is an information book and food is easily delivered to your room. Access is through a locked outer then your apartment door. There ...
Advantages: Easy to get to, huge variety of shops, lots of parking. Disadvantages: Can get busy - especially if its raining!
Cribbs Causeway is great! If you don't want to fight your way into the centre of Bristol for the shops take a trip to Cribbs Causeway - you won't be disappointed. There is everything you could possibly need all under one roof - including a reasonably large food hall offering a variety of meals for when you get peckish! There are lots of parking places and although it does get busy i have always managed to find a space without too much of a problem. The huge supermarket Asda is also on site (with a petrol station which is always handy!) and if you are wanting to stay later into the evening there is also a cinema. I have visited Bristol many times but because Cribbs Causeway is so easily accessable (off Junction 17 of the M5) i have frequently found myself there shopping rather than going into Bristol itself! ...
