Advantages: Easy To Get To, A Haven For Wildlife Disadvantages: Not In A Very Picturesque Setting
...The Dearne Valley covers a vast area of land that follows the course of the River Dearne in South Yorkshire to the South East of Barnsley, to the East of Rotherham and to the West of Doncaster. It is therefore very easily accessible for the visitor.

The Shire Brook Valley - This is an area which contains the Brook (River) and also ancient Woodlands, Lowland Heath, and Marshlands. There are five separate Ponds, the largest of these being Carr Forge Dam. The Centenary Ponds were created as recently as 1999 and opened for the Millennium. The Shire Brook Valley Conservation Group, with help from funding by English Nature have undertook an extensive programme of Tree Planting in the Valley which began in 1975 and continues today.
Beighton Marsh - This is an area of ancient...
