There are 2 resort Hotels just 40km from Amman, The Movenpick is beautiful and very expensive at £30 per day for access to their private beach and spa ... ...which are based on the Dead sea products.The mud bath is especially good for circulation and weight loss. I lost 2 kilos in 30 mins wow!. they wrap you up in mud and sheets and you sweat it off for a maximum of 40 minutes dependant on age and needs. It stinks of sulphur but the way your skin feels afterwards makes it worth it. The cost for this is just £20 on top of your entrance fee to the resort.

We went for the mud bath and it was a real experience. The clinic is a medically recognized place with fully qualified staff to administer the varying treatments all of which are based on the Dead sea products.The mud bath is especially good for circulation and weight loss. In the resort are there are shops ,2 swimming pools , 2 snack areas , a water slide, childrens pool, beach area showers , changing rooms and a fully air conditioned Lebanese Restaurant . You can stay at the resort as well but as we were staying in Amman it was aneasy well signposted drive that took us through some really wonderful landscapes and views that really take your breath away.
I thoroughly recommend this place to you GO BEFORE THE CROWDS FIND OUT.

...for 5 days at the Dead Sea resort of the Movenpick which is longer than the average tourist but we wanted to have more time to relax at the end of a hectic tour of Jordan.
The hotel is stunning and attracts a large number of tourists from the Middle east and Europe. It has a number of restaurants and some small shops and quite extensive English language library. ( I borrowed Shane Ritchies autobiography!)
It has a luxurious spa reasonable well ... ...few days bathing in the Dead Sea.
For anyone wanting to visit the Dead Sea but are wary of doing so via Israel, Jordan is a great alternative. We felt safe throughout our travels in Jordan.
The only disadvantage was that most of the hotels are purely resort hotels and there is very little to do other than swim/float in the Dead Sea. Consequently you have to pay hotel prices to eat and drink which can be costly.
