I was very excited to go to this Pousada as we had planned this for a long time as there is so much in the surrounding area to see.
On arrival we found parking to be a problem and almost none existent. We had to park down the road and carry our own luggage to reception.
At reception, although friendly, we had to wait a while to be attended to.
The rooms were clean and although small, were adequate. The bathrooms have been modernized, however grouting and tiling not done very well. Beds comfortable.
Breakfast was included and a large variety of breads, cheeses etc available. However, the service was appalling. It was self service however one had to request certain items such as coffee etc from the waiters. Again, trying to attract the attention of the waiters took time. When we were served coffee it was like dishwater ...

Purchased in March 2009, an 08 model NT700 Deauville with heated grips, a top box, hand wind deflectors and 12v accessory socket.

Very comfortable seat with amazing protection from the wind and weather.
Quick enough, will go to 110mph but runs out of puff at 95mph (licence preserver).
Virtually maintenance free, just get on and push the start button, I check the oil level and tyre pressures weekly but they have never needed adjustment.
I covered 10500 miles in the first 9 months, returns 50-55mpg dependent on riding style, rear tyre lasted 8000 miles, I expect to get around 14k from the front tyre.
4k service intervals, but the 4k is just a series of checks (I did myself) the oil change happens at 8k intervals and the dealer charged £200 for that.

As my wife and I started to have more free time, we decided to take up touring again.
We mistakenly purchased a Shadow as the seat height is low and I am only 5' 9". Big mistake and my wife hated it.
We bought a new NT700V Deauville and were very happy with it. However, I had a few problems with keeping both feet on the ground at lights etc.
For some unexplained reason, we replaced it with a new Shadow Spirit. This only lasted a few months before we went back to another ne NT700V.
For some unexplained reason, I have no problems with both feet on the ground with this one.
This is good because the NT700V is the best light weight tourer I have owned. It has excellent manouvarbility, good acceleration and spped, excellent fuel consumption and probably the most comfortable seat on modern bikes.
All round, an excellent bike ...
