Let Howth be your oyster

Advantages: Seals; seafood; very pretty and interesting; close to Dublin
Disadvantages: Can get very busy

On the grounds that no trip to Ireland is complete without a plate of oysters, and that oysters always take best at the seaside, we made the twenty-five minute trip from Dublin's Connolly Station to the picturesque seaside suburb (and peninsula) of Howth (rhymes with "both"). We weren't the only ones; the train was packed with a mixture of tourists and Dubliners and we realised we'd have plenty of company on a trip we'd hoped would enable us to escape the city. Fortunately we were wearing our walking shoes and we managed to escape the hordes who didn't venture far from the harbour. First stop, though, was the Sunday morning food market where producers from the region come to sell their produce. There were plenty of free samples which was just as well for us as, for practical reasons, there wasn't a great deal we could have taken home ...

The pleasent Park Hotel

Advantages: Excellent food, brilliant service & good value
Disadvantages: Can be quite expensive if you are trying to work to a budget

The hotel park is a good large 3* hotel it is of a very high standard & much more like a 4* hotel. The hotel Park is situated in the old part of Rovinj overlooking the island of St Catherine. ADDRESS: I.M Ronjigova bb Rovinj 52210 Croatia TELEPHONE NUMBER: 003852 811077 FAX NUMBER: 003852 816 977 EMAIL ADDRESS: park@jadran.tdr.hr WEB ADDRESS: www.adriaresorts.hr FIRST IMPRESSIONS ? Once you arrive from the airport after the 2.5 hour flight to Croatia you pull up outside the Hotel Park & from the front of the hotel it looks very big & quite sophisticated. There are about 5 steps up to the reception, which is quite difficult when you have to carry your own luggage. Once you are at the entrance of the hotel you are faced with a large open space. There is a nice marble floor ...

Victoria Park Plaza Hotel, London It's More Than A Hotel!

Advantages: Pleasant Staff, Good Customer Service, Nice Breakfast
Disadvantages: Expensive

The Victoria Park Plaza in London is an amazing hotel that has very comfortable, quality rooms and staff who are friendly and professional. The best thing about The Victoria Park Plaza is that it is in a prime position just two minutes from Victoria Station and an easy walk to some of London's main attractions. I found it perfect for shopping and buying souvenirs. There were also quite a number of restaurants close by and my mum who cannot walk far didn't complain once. Although we ate at the hotel we also sampled London's China Town. It is a four star hotel and lives up to the standard. It is situated close to Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament. The hotel does not allow smoking anywhere near the building which my mum and I really appreciated because we are both none smokers. The smoking ban made ...
