Hesperia Del Mar

Advantages: Great location & cheap
Disadvantages: Not that many food places around

I visited Barcelona this July and stayed at the Hotel Hesperia Del Mar for five nights with 3 other friends and I have to honestly say we all loved it! The hotel price which we got from expedia was one of the most competitive around and we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, for how cheap the hotel was it was quite nice. It cost for five night my share was 145 so the entire room cost was 290. The hotel reception staff were the highlight of the hotel. They are very friendly, warm and always willing to help! The rooms were standard and offered everything we needed. The bathroom was fully equipped with a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with large mirror. The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds and were comfy. There is air conditioning so we never felt hot and flustered in the room unless we turned it off and forgot to put it ...

Review of Hesperia Del Mar, Barcelona

There is another beach at Llandudno!

Advantages: Beautiful, great for families, lovely walks
Disadvantages: Mat be too quiet for some

Llandudno is a beautiful Victorian seaside resort situated on the North coast of Wales. If you look at a map of North Wales you will see that Llandudno is set on a piece of land jutting out into the Irish Sea. The end of this piece of land is the Great Orme Country Park with Llandudno town at its base. If you can visualise this in your mind you will see that Llandudno will actually have two beaches ? roughly one facing north and one facing west. The North Shore is the side where the main town, hotels and shops are. The pier is here as is the theatre and most of the entertainment is on this side of the town. Before we came to live here in Llandudno I hadn?t even realised that the West Shore existed and I bet I am not the only one! There is a dual carriageway linking the two shores which is called Gloddaeth Avenue and it takes ...

Sandcastles at Llandudno

Advantages: Nice beaches, good shops, good walks.
Disadvantages: None

I remember visiting Llandudno with my parents when I was a child, for our annual holiday. I have happy memories of building sandcastles, playing on the two Ormes and walking along the long crescent promenade eating ice creams! Ah, happy days! I have been to Llandudno a few times since, but only for a couple of hours on a day trip from home in the Midlands. While we were on holiday on Anglesey we went back onto the mainland to Llandudno on a couple of occasions and I was able to see a lot more of the town and the Great Orme in particular. The town and long sandy beach are sheltered by The Great Orme in the north and The Little Orme in the south. There is a pier at the foot of the Great Orme together with a few amusements and children?s rides. The sad spectacle of the ruined Grand Theatre also stands here. The town itself is set ...
