A Monument to a Life Less Ordinary
Review of Nehru Memorial Museum (Teen Murti Bhavan), Delhi by koshkha

Advantages: If you are interested in Nehru and Indian Independence, it's a must see
Disadvantages: If you aren't, then it may go over your head

...I was even born, then Nehru is right up at the top of my list. Mind you, it's not a very long list, but none the less, with his matinee-idol good looks, the first Prime Minister of an independent India was a real head-turner who set ladies' hearts a-flutter all over the world - including Edwina, Countess of Burma, the wife of the last Viceroy with whom it's alleged that he enjoyed a few 'horizontal negotiations'. Who was he? As one of the ...
...Nehru. The Museum The Nehru Museum - or as it's more formally known, the Nehru Museum, Library and Planetarium - is housed in Teen Murti Bhawan. Teen Murti Bhawan means literally Three Soldiers Palace and takes its name from the statue of three soldiers which stands proudly outside the gates of the museum as a memorial to the dead of World War I. Nehru himself was never the kind of man who would have demanded a great palace as his official ... Read review

Qutab Minar
Review of Red Fort (Lal Quila), Delhi by Stevoz

Advantages: Beautiful, historical
Disadvantages: Touts and people harassing you to buy things

The Qutab Minar is the largest tower in Delhi at 239ft. It was built by muslims at the centre of a holy spot in the city and stands for victory. It is an awe inspiring sight in the middle of a bustling , dusty city. The beautifully carved and sculpted tower stands in grassy lawns and surrounded by trees. There are also however, the ruins of many other historical sights at the site. This includes the incredible 2000 year old iron pillar the Alai Minar, ... Read review

...the banks of River Yamuna. Chandni Chowk was built in 1650 AD as an accompaniment to the fort. It was designed by Jahanara, the Emperor\'s favorite daughter. A large chowk (\"square\") with a central pool was built at some distance from the fort. The story goes that on a moonlit night, the new complex and the pool lay shimmering; as a result, it acquired the name of Chandni Chowk- \"the moonlit square\". Another legend says that the Chowk was named ... Read review

Advice on arriving in India
Review of Delhi, India (DEL) by cyrano

Advantages: Relatively efficient and modern
Disadvantages:

...you will be arriving in Delhi, and if you are flying a European or Middle Eastern Airline, that means arriving in the early hours of the morning. Arriving in a strange country for the first time can be a daunting experience. Delhi's International Arrivals Terminal is relatively modern and efficient. Make sure you fill out the Immigration forms and choose the right que at the immigration counter. You'll find the staff relatively pleasant and helpful, ...
...rude to an Immigration official, as this is a criminal offence under Indian law. On picking up your baggage and exiting through customs, hand in your customs declaration form. Immediately on your right you'll find a State Bank of India which does a good rate for foreign currency and travellers cheques. On your left, you'll find the pre-paid taxi counter. Go the the Government of India Tourist Counter and they will get you a car into the centre of ... Read review

So, before you go i think this review is gonaa help you to enjoy its beauty to MAX. History King Qutubuddin Aibak of Slave dynasty laid the foundation of the Qutab Minar in 1199, adjoining the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque, ...
...Qutab Minar : Qutab means Axis Minar means Minaret So, you may call it as Axis Minaret. Doesn't sound good. Let it be in its original form :) The tower which was built in three stages has 5 stories with projected balconies on each. Qutab-ud-Din completed the first one . Second, third and the fourth were completed by his son-in -law, ''Illtutmish in 1230. It was struck by lightening due to which the Top Storey fell down and thus ... Read review
