I have been to Delhi many times as part of my business trips. Every time I go there I find something new and exciting there. Delhi is in actual fact two cities Old Delhi and New Delhi all in one.
Old Delhi is a place ideal for those who love History. New Delhi is the Modern city. In old Delhi there are many places to visit including both the red fort, qutham Minar Channi Choq. The first two are historical places built in the Mogul times. The former is a great place to buy really cheap authentic goods. Although if you are not prepared to adjust to the Indian way of living I would suggest that you stay away as it is a very busy places and not for the faint hearted.
New Delhi is great for those who want to get a taste of Delhi and Indian culture. The new city has been really developed to accommodate tourists who come into the country with special tourist areas and buses that can take you to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra.
Getting around the city is very easy and cheap. You can hire a taxi for a day at a very reasonable price at your hotel, which usually comes with a tour guide, which is perfect for those on their first visit.
