If you are in the vicinity of Delphi on mainland Greece, you must go there! I'd read about this place at school, a place where characters from Greek mythology would go to consult the oracle - from my understanding, a rock on top of a hill. But the scale of the place is seriously overwhelming! Take with you your best walking attire, a huge bottle of water, and a camera, and trace your way up a mountain side that is absolutely crammed with ancient buildings and statues, some of which you will recognise from coffee table books and company motifs. The views are stunning, the museum is informative and far more laid back than British museums, and you will feel immersed in both culture and sticky, dusty sweat by the time you descend the mountain. Go there! Experience it!
