Note: my product ratings are for Delphi not Keytours
We took a tour from Athens to Delphi and then onto Meteora. If your going to Delphi with a tour guide do some research on the company first because it can make a huge difference.
Our tour guide was rude, impatient, always late and not very well informed. It put a rather large cloud over what should have been a brilliant experience. Think twice before booking with Keytours.
Tour guide aside, Delphi is a highly recommended visit. The drive is scenic about 2 hours from Athens, the view is stunning and the history of the place is absorbing to say the least.
The town is small country affair. We didn't stay there so I can't tell you much other than it looks beautiful, several little restaurants/cafes and I'm told there is some shopping for souvenirs, jewelry and hand made crafts. In winter the entire town becomes a ski resort.
The main attraction is without a doubt the ancient ruins. In ancient times it was considered the centre of the world and was a very import part of Greece mythology. You walk in the gate and follow The Sacred Path to the top (the very same path used by the ancient people when visiting Apollo's Temple or the Oracle). Winding your way up takes you past all the significant sights and the view just keeps getting better. If you're unfit then allow an hour or 2 to climb the hill to the Oracle otherwise an hour should be enough if you just want a look and to take some photos. If you're with out a guide I would suggest taking a guide book. There's not much use in looking at the ruins and having no clue as to what you're actually seeing.
Allow about an hour for the attached museum (good idea to do the museum first) as well if you're the kind of person that likes to have a good look at everything on display. Plenty of interesting artifacts to give you an idea of what ancient life and worship was like.
Best time to visit would be either side of July and August as these 2 months are packed with tourists and therefore everything doubles in price.
Cheers
Ben

hiya Ben, thanks for your earlier comment on my own reviews. I have tried to add some more information for you! Also I would say that although you review of Greece sounds nice, I am thinking of going there next summer and I didn't really get much of a feel for the place also it does sound good from the brief bits you put in. Thanks again for the comments!!

Review of Delphi (Greece)
Advantages: If you only have time to visit a few heritage sites in Greece, this is one of the most famous, fullest and most representative. Disadvantages: Having to hire an official guide, and the town itself isn't particularly 'happening'
