I went to Greece several times, and i believe the best time to visit it is in May or September when it is not so hot and crowded with people. Anyway if you are a "beach boy/girl" then summer is the time to Go.
The first time i visited Delphi was 3 years ago. I rented a Car in Athens and hit the road. It is approximately 1.5h away and the landscape is great. On your way you will pass Arahova village whitch is a must stop.
Delphi I would suggest you to take a bottle of water and a snack with you. don't rush go first in the museum to see what they found out, so it will be easer for you to imagine what was standing once upon a time there. While in the museum check out the statue of the boy i never saw such a great statue!
Outside take a walk and see the beauty Greeks made and dont miss the great view. for sure they knew where to build monuments!
If you are a bit archaeologist while checking the monuments look close and you will be able to see wrtings on them from Years ago.
I loved the trip to Delphi and i suggest it to all!
Please see my comment on your other review - it might be helpful if you read some other peoples' place reviews - you need to include lots of info from the histoy, what was the oracle at Delphi, exactly what is therre now etc

Advantages: If you only have time to visit a few heritage sites in Greece, this is one of the most famous, fullest and most representative. Disadvantages: Having to hire an official guide, and the town itself isn't particularly 'happening'
