For those seeking clean, centrally located accommodation in Amsterdam look no further than The Delta Hotel. Situated only a few minutes walk from the central train station it is easy to find, as the Damrak is the main road directly in front of you as you exit Central Station. In addition it is close to Madame Tussauds, the red light district, local nightlife, the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Dam Square, and many shops.
All rooms are equipped with private bath/shower and toilet, telephone, safety-box, colour television and movie facilities. The hotel is ideal for larger parties, as well as singles, as the hotel has a full range of private rooms sleeping up to 8 people.
The hotel serves food in clean comfortable surroundings although the restaurant can get very busy at times. However, with a window fronting onto the main street, it is an excellent location to relax over a good breakfast whilst watching the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. If you just fancy a snack, a few doors down from the hotel is 'Pizza M Slice' serving the best (yep you've guessed it) pizza in the city. A must try.
If you are travelling to Amsterdam by car (not recommended) the hotel has arranged a 15% discount off parking fees at a car park a few minutes away. Parking is very expensive in the city, and as the public transport is excellent and the majority of attractions are close by, a car really is not needed.
For those of a sporty nature there is a modern fitness centre 20 meters from the hotel, where, in cooperation with the fitness centre, there is a discount for guests.
All in all, the Hotel Delta is an ideal choice for the budget-minded traveler, very reasonable rates and an unbeatable location.

When were you there? which season? is there a high season and a low season? and what sort of rates did you pay? did you pre-book or book when you got there? I remember going to Paris on our impromptu honeymoon (our pre-paid trip to Jersey was cancelled by British Rail without notification for over-subscription and we were given a refund the day before we should have gone ~ so we went on the overnight ferry three days and two nights to Paris instead) ~ and had to find somewhere to sleep ~ a strange time to remember now ~ .................................................................................................... ~ ♥ ~ jes ~ ♥♥
