Australian Consulates and South East from Renon Civic Center. Away from crowd of Kuta Beach is some time necessary for your vacation. Only 30 km from Ubud or Tanah Lot and 60 km from Lake Batur or Lake Beratan Bedugul or Soka Beach.
Advantages: Cheap, beautiful weather, absolute luxury, what more can you want? Disadvantages: Mosquitoes and a long-haul flight
...As soon as I stepped off the plane after a 21 hour flight from London Heathrow with BA to Jakarta then to Denpasar(capital of Bali) with Garuda Indonesia, I knew I had found paradise. It was early morning at about 9am and the temperature was upto about 25 degrees (hell) and by lunch time 45 degrees (absolute hell) but we had the gorgeous Balinese sea of Nusa Dua to cool us down. We stayed for 2 weeks all inclusive, and had a brilliant time. Our room was fantastic as we had a presidencial suite(out of this world!). I can't for the life of me remember what the name of it was but it was good! The only bad thing about the whole holiday was the mosquitoes, which were everywhere but if you had a good repellent, no problem. The food there is great, meal for 6 under £15 (no mistake)!!! I would thoroughly recommend this destination to anybody!...

Advantages: Lot to see and do. Generally cheap. Culture. Arts Disadvantages: Internal travel is difficult. Bureaucracy. Corruption
...and Malaysia.
Other favoured ports of call are Medan and particularly Lake Toba in Sumatra, Bukit Tinggi and Padang.
Access into Indonesia is quite good. There are, for instance, no less than 23 international airports designated as gateways for foreign tourists including Pekan Baru, Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), Medan and Padang. Whilst the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have designated these gateways, they are frankly not all having international standard infrastructure and facilities commensurate with their status as international airports. Still you will find there are plenty of flights into Indonesia from major regional destinations such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Manila.
Deterrents to tourism, well publicized in the international media, have included violence and civil strife in Kalimantan, Acheh and some other parts...

...gone
Leaving your tears
Remains on my shoulder
At seven in the evening
You never believe me
I will absolutely die
At seven in the evening
The coast-line touches the sky
Ships were sailing to the stars
I and this seashore are like eternal lovers
Celebrating our gathering
Sand is drenched
Rain was stopped
At seven in the evening

There's a direct flight from Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia) to Mataram (the capital city of Lombok province); it will take around two hours.
There's also a direct flight from Denpasar (Bali province) to Mataram; it will take around 40 minutes. Boat also available from Denpasar to Mataram, but I will not recommend to use boat for safety reason.
It's easy to find good hotels around Senggigi, with various prices.
I am not quite sure, but people said that Senggigi has the longest coast...

Advantages: awesome watersport Disadvantages: too quiet at evening
...Nusa Dua area is great place for watersport. Here you can easily jump to the water for diving (even not the best choice compare to Bunaken), snorkling, kayaking, jet ski, banana boat, windsurfing, etc.
This area is more quiet than Kuta, so if you like to have party and clubhopping, this is not the right place.
Nusa Dua offers you quiet environment with many nice hotels there. Great place for honeymoon and in the opposite, if you travel alone its better to stay away from Nusa Dua at night cos you wont find any single guy girls here...Most of them come with partners or family already! Hehe...
Its not far from the airport nor the city center Denpasar, only around 15 minutes by taxi or motorbike....

Advantages: Fantastic Disadvantages: long way away!
...I visited Bali last September with my boyfriend. We chose to stay in Sanur (south of Denpasar airport) in the Hotel Sanur Beach (4*). We took a taxi from the airport which was extremely cheap and I would recommend this over prebooking an expensive transfer as the Balinese were very friendly and helpful. Sanur is the perfect beach destination in Bali, it's a lot quieter than Kuta and not as exclusive as Nusa Dua. There are numerous craft shops, stalls and cafes along the streets of Sanur and not very much traffic. The weather was perfect and the ambience was relaxed. Bali itself is paradise, idyllic scenery and beautiful flora.
It's possible to do various watersports along the beach and many of the big hotels have there own facilities. We were not short of things to do, but I would recommend Sanur for a relaxing, chilled...
