Avoid Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parcs - go elsewhere

Advantages: The area is good
Disadvantages: Woolacombe Bay Parcs are a leftover from post war rubbish - not suitable for today

...well cleaned. Later they apolgised and admitted that they had made a mistake in our booking but we lost a night and received no compensation. We shall never go there again. Woolacombe is a lovely place but avoid these Holiday Parcs if you want to have a good time. ...

Welcome to a Great Holiday

Advantages: Fab playground
Disadvantages: Clubhouse can get busy

...usually we land up in Devon as there is so much to do. We have stayed at a few holiday parks but the one we have used over and over again is Welcome Holiday Park in Dawlish. If you are looking for a holiday for the whole family this park is for you! ***Booking*** Welcome have a website http://www.welcomefamily.co.uk/ we usually take a look at the website and then phone to book the holiday. You can also request a brochure and book through the post. ...
...the staff to be very helpful and if you have any special requirements like sometimes we need 2 caravans to be near each other the staff will try and help. After you have made your booking you will recieve a receipt in the post and if you haven`t paid in full it will tell you when you have to pay in full. ***On arrival*** Once you get to the holiday park you will find a small carpark next to the reception if there is no room there are plenty of ...

Appledore - a jewel in the Devon crown

Advantages: Friendly people, lovely views, quaint cottages, summers
Disadvantages: Bit of a ghost village in the winter

I can hear you all saying 'Appledore? Never heard of it.' Well, neither had I until just over 5 years ago. How I came here. My family have always favoured North Devon and Cornwall for UK holidays and we had all spent many happy weeks in these areas relaxing and wishing that we didn't have to go back to our humdrum daily lives. Like many we'd trawled the local papers whilst on holiday, checking out the job and housing situation, and like most we'd ...
...Well, everything changed for the whole family within the short space of 18 months. In that little time slot my husband, both my parents and my grandmother died leaving only my brother's family and my family to carry on. It was a devastating time for all of us and one which made my brother and myself take stock of our lives and wonder where we were going from there. We were both living in Northampton then, not our home town but one we'd become accustomed ...

This place went down well with us!

Advantages: Lots to do
Disadvantages: charge extra for pony ride etc

Pennywell farm is about a fifteen minute drive from where I live so I have been to place quite a few times. It's basically a big farm where there are lots of animals to touch and spend time with but there are also tonnes of other things going on around this. It will cost an adult just under a tenner and a child around eight pounds and under three's go free which I think is great value for money if you make the most of everything that goes on. When ...
...in the future. Pennywell is always changing because as the seasons change so do the animals for instance you could go up at the start of opening season (feb) and it'll be wet and muddy and there won't be too much going on but when you go back in May, there are tiny piglets and sheep which have just been born. The thing that I really don't like about Pennywell is the fact that you pay at the door but if you want your child to have a pony ride then ...
