If anyone is thinking of venturing away from home over summer but don't fancy going abroad because of the cost and risk, try visiting Croyde Bay in North Devon. I personally have been visiting this part of the world for 17 years now and I'm 18 this summer. Croyde Bay is ideal for the 18-30 range its a bit quieter than Newquay and a bit of a lack of a nightlife but when the weather is good things pick up. It has some of the best beaches in the country and they really are good. When we go we usually stay in a caravan park called "Ruda holiday park", it has all the trimmings and is pretty hard to faulter. Theres an amusement arcade for the younger ones, a sort of SPAR type shop, a big swimming pool with slides and stuff, a big club which includes things for all ages from childrens entertainment to a makeshift nightclub which goes on into the early hours. Despite it's cheesiness it is the perfect place to meet people and make friends. If your a family the kids will be occupied throughout the day and night, the adults can go and chill on the beach, visit the village and at night watch the cabaret or go into the village and try out a few of the pubs and restaurants. For the younger adult the list is endless, I have never been bored all the times I have visited during the day you can try your hand at surfing, bodyboarding or maybe even some skateboarding or you could just soak up some rays on the beach, go to the pub, play football just about anything and don't worry there are plenty of people there our age and their always a good laugh. At night the cheesy nightclub is always good for a laugh and then afterwards everyone usually camps out on the beach and has campfires and maybe even do a bit of skinny dipping. If your thinking of going try out these places:
1. The Rock Inn - This is a small but cosy pub just outside Croyde in Georgeham. Jane the landlady is well top and the beer is excellent.
2. The Thatch - In Croyde itself another classic English pub with some good looking waitresses.
3. The Ruda Club - Funny because of how bad it is.
