A good night to all.

Advantages: In city centre, large comfortable rooms good breakfast
Disadvantages: poor parking, small towels!

I stayed for one night with my wife when attending a friend's wedding which was held here. we had a special wedding price of £85 inc. breakfast which was very reasonable when you consider the normal price is £160!. We booked over the phone and the staff were very helpful, confirmation arrived in the post a couple of days later including directions and facilities, this is when we learnt of the parking. ...they go quite quickly. If you don't get a space there a map showing other available car parks close by is shown, although the prices aren't given. Check in is after 2 pm and we arrived at 3 the staff were very friendly and although it was very busy they were very attentive to detail. A stunning hotel perfect for weddings

Advantages: Beautiful building and grounds
Disadvantages: Disabled access is poor

Boringdon Hall is an amazing old 16th century manor house with links to Henry the VIII. In March 1989 part of the house was burnt down in a tragic fire and a lot of money was put into it to restore it back to its former glory. Review of Boringdon Hall Hotel, Plymouth

Disappointing but has potential

Advantages: Sea view
Disadvantages: Needs moderising, useless shower, broken toilet seat

...This is an old, outdated hotel and they still use mortice locks on the bedroom doors attached to a long hard plastic tag with your room 'name' on it (yes names, not numbers!). The key hole was very close to the door frame and with the plastic tag on the key ring it was dificult to turn the key without your hand getting stuck between the key and the door frame. Once inside the room, my eye was immediately drawn to the patio door and the view beyond ...
...nicer. So overall, this hotel falls short of being satisfactory and if it weren't for the sea view, I'd have scored this a 1 star. It is also located 20 minutes walk from the town centre so not really in a central position either. There are probably better hotels in Torquay than this for value for money so I'd only recommend this as a last resort. ...

Its Bliss to stay at Ibis

Advantages: European Feel, and good valus for money
Disadvantages: Bath are too short, breakfast excluded

...Inn and cheaper. The Ibis is easy to find as it is on the main dualcarriageway when entering the city. It is also on a hill so you can spot the green/red sign in good time. Pulling up at the Ibis offers ample parking and the reception is well sign posted. There are only 51 rooms. There is even parking for a coach/mini bus. The rooms are good value - £46.95 weekdays and weekends. This is for peak season, but during the off season prices are about ...
...OK. The Ibis has rooms for disabled and they accept pets which is good, it is only a 10mins drive to the sea front or 10 mins the otherway and you are at dartmoor. It is also right next to the Plymouth Ski Slope. You can arrange wake up calls but breakfast is not included in the price. Breakfast is £4.25 per person and is european style. Their breakfast is awesome, warm fresh baguettes, cheese, ham, eggs, fresh coffee. You get cereal, yoghurts, ...

Advantages: Great Location
Disadvantages: More of a Good 3* Hotel than a 4* Hotel.

...so the rate at the Copthorne isn't that bad. It is located at the top end of the town. This means it is great to explore Plymouth - the shopping is on your doorstep, and Plymouth Hoe and Barbican are about a 10 minute walk away. It is also away from the bars/pubs that are at the lower end of town, so noise disturbance is surprisingly low for a town center hotel.
