A good night to all.

Advantages: In city centre, large comfortable rooms good breakfast
Disadvantages: poor parking, small towels!

I stayed for one night with my wife when attending a friend's wedding which was held here. we had a special wedding price of £85 inc. breakfast which was very reasonable when you consider the normal price is £160!. We booked over the phone and the staff were very helpful, confirmation arrived in the post a couple of days later including directions and facilities, this is when we learnt of the parking. There are 30 spaces at the hotel at a cost of ...
...they go quite quickly. If you don't get a space there a map showing other available car parks close by is shown, although the prices aren't given. Check in is after 2 pm and we arrived at 3 the staff were very friendly and although it was very busy they were very attentive to detail. My credit card was pre-authorised for £30 more than the cost of the room and we took a lift to the 1st floor room. The room was fairly large and well set out with ...

A stunning hotel perfect for weddings

Advantages: Beautiful building and grounds
Disadvantages: Disabled access is poor

Boringdon Hall is an amazing old 16th century manor house with links to Henry the VIII. In March 1989 part of the house was burnt down in a tragic fire and a lot of money was put into it to restore it back to its former glory. It is surrounded by 7acres of beautiful gardens and looks like something you would see in a period drama. It has 41 bedrooms and this includes 4 rooms with stunning four poster beds. Boringdon Hall not only hosts wedding but ...
...recently had their reception at Boringdon Hall so we thought we'd take a look. It was about 10 minutes away from our parish church so thought it would be ideal if we liked it. We drove to Plympton and it was sign posted from the main road which was very handy as we weren't entirely sure where it was even though we were both 'born and bred' Plymouthians. There was a long driveway which headed up to the building which was shaded by trees which we ...

What a disappointment

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: small dingy room, expensive

...had been spoilt, but the Thurlestone was more expensive and we anticipated some degree of luxury. We were brought to a tiny room with a microscopic window over looking the hotel car park, the fabrics were OK but cheap and a bit tacky and the size was really that of a small single hotel room at the rear of a hotel, we felt like bad children who had been consigned to the worst room in the place for some undefined misdemeanour. My wife cried! The ...
...included in the price! Thurlestone is gorgeous but why travel all that way to be incarcerated in a prison cell at the rear of the hotel, very disappointing. The facilities looked clean and good and there was nice grounds to stroll through and we met a lovely man with a beautiful long haired dachshund. I feel that this hotel's main asset is the location but in trying to maximise their profit they have forgotten one thing......the customer! Please ...

Clean

Advantages: Good Road links
Disadvantages: Sometimes noisey

...you would expect of the Premier Travel Inn. The rooms are of a reasonable size, and all rooms are within a short walk of the restaurant, bar and car park. Considering how close the rooms are to the restaurant and bar I found there to be very little noise from them. The communal areas (corridors & stair wells) could do with a little bit of updating, in my opinion they have seen better days. The location of the inn has both positives and negatives, ...
...into Exeter and the Motorway, however this also means that there can sometimes be a lot of noise. Not only is there noise from passing traffic, but also from aircraft departing and arriving at the local airport. Thankfully it only is in peak periods that I found the noise to be an issue. Overall a pleasant stay. I would use the inn again. ...

Go west!

Advantages: inexpensive and convenient
Disadvantages: the bed!

My parents live in Dawlish and, I don't know whether they were trying to tell us something, but the moment my sisters and I had all left home, they promptly sold the family home and moved into a one bedroom flat! It's lovely for them, but it does mean that every time we want to come and visit we need to find accommodation elsewhere. After having tried a few other options, we now seem to have settled on the Exeter Travelodge as our place to stay when ...
...price! Firstly it is very well located as it is part of the Exeter Service area at Junction 30 of the M5 which is the main route into Devon and Cornwall from just about anywhere else in the country. The actual address is: Moto Service Area M5 Motorway, Sandygate, Exeter, EX2 7HF‎ The fact that it is located at the service area means that if you are using it as a stopover on a longer journey, you don't have to worry about wasting time trying ...
