Perfect for business and pleasure
Advantages: Quality rooms, great food and endless facilities Disadvantages: None
The Palace Hotel is a magnificent building set on the edge of the Torquay seafront. I went the stay there as part of a company team building weekend and it was fantastic. The ground and facilities, not to mention the bar, helped us to have a really fun filled time. We went round their golf course, play tennis and went swimming most days. Sadly we had to have one or two conferences during the few days but everything else about the hotel made up for ...

A shabby hotel in need of updating
Advantages: Easy to find, plenty of parking Disadvantages: A steep walk back from the town, much of the decor and facilities in desperate need of an upgrade
This hotel is well located and easy to find, but it is a steep hill's wall away from the town of Torquay and the harbour. However there is a bus which comes up the hill fairly frequently and stops by the hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel we were kept waiting for several minutes whilst the hotelier was on the telephone talking to another potential guest. He didnt acknowledge us at all and never apologised for keeping us waiting. He showed me to ... ...The floor of the en-suite bathroom was covered in some grubby stuff which looked like stuck down flooring had been taken up and the adhesive not properly removed. The room was barely big enough for a large single, but two single beds were squashed in with very little space between them. The bed spreads were past thier best and one of them had a large yellow stain on it. There was a great flat screen TV in the room, but the reception quality wasnt ...

Clean
Advantages: Good Road links Disadvantages: Sometimes noisey
...you would expect of the Premier Travel Inn. The rooms are of a reasonable size, and all rooms are within a short walk of the restaurant, bar and car park. Considering how close the rooms are to the restaurant and bar I found there to be very little noise from them. The communal areas (corridors & stair wells) could do with a little bit of updating, in my opinion they have seen better days. The location of the inn has both positives and negatives, ... ...into Exeter and the Motorway, however this also means that there can sometimes be a lot of noise. Not only is there noise from passing traffic, but also from aircraft departing and arriving at the local airport. Thankfully it only is in peak periods that I found the noise to be an issue. Overall a pleasant stay. I would use the inn again. ...

Go west!
Advantages: inexpensive and convenient Disadvantages: the bed!
My parents live in Dawlish and, I don't know whether they were trying to tell us something, but the moment my sisters and I had all left home, they promptly sold the family home and moved into a one bedroom flat! It's lovely for them, but it does mean that every time we want to come and visit we need to find accommodation elsewhere. After having tried a few other options, we now seem to have settled on the Exeter Travelodge as our place to stay when ... ...price! Firstly it is very well located as it is part of the Exeter Service area at Junction 30 of the M5 which is the main route into Devon and Cornwall from just about anywhere else in the country. The actual address is: Moto Service Area M5 Motorway, Sandygate, Exeter, EX2 7HF The fact that it is located at the service area means that if you are using it as a stopover on a longer journey, you don't have to worry about wasting time trying ...

A Bad Nights Sleep at Plymouth Travelodge
Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Lumpy Beds, Noisy
...having never stayed in a Travelodge before, but had heard that they were a cheap alternative.
~~Price~~
I have to say that I was quite shocked at how much one night would cost as I have stayed in cheaper and more luxurious places than this before. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a room anywhere else in Plymouth for that night due to various events that were taking place in the city. The Travelodge we eventually looked at didn’t have any standard ... ...payment.
~~Location~~
The Travelodge is in a great location within Plymouth, although it also has some downsides to this particular location. The hotel is right in the middle of the town centre - a stones throw away from all the shop and is located at the back of Union Street (main street running through the town). This means pretty much everything you would want to see is within walking distance.
However the downside to this location is that ...
