The Best Hotel in the South west
Advantages: Luxury Disadvantages: Car Parking
...pleasure of staying at the Imperial for a couple of nights for a residential conference. The Imperial is part of the paramount chain, there are frequently special offers on their website www.paramount-hotels.co.uk. The usual discounter (laterooms, discount city hotels etc) can sometimes do deals on room rates. The rate I paid was a conference rate of about £50 per night but at the moment the Paramount website has Room only at £69, DBB at £143 per ... ...makes up for it). The Imperial is a purpose built hotel so the rooms are purpose built. The furnishings are extremely good quality. The bathrooms are large and well equipped. The whole hotel, from public rooms to bedrooms is impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean.
The Food - Breakfast was outstanding, a hot and cold buffet. Plentiful, good qualitty, well prepared ingredients. The other meals were part of the conference package and were of a ...

Go west!
Advantages: inexpensive and convenient Disadvantages: the bed!
My parents live in Dawlish and, I don't know whether they were trying to tell us something, but the moment my sisters and I had all left home, they promptly sold the family home and moved into a one bedroom flat! It's lovely for them, but it does mean that every time we want to come and visit we need to find accommodation elsewhere. After having tried a few other options, we now seem to have settled on the Exeter Travelodge as our place to stay when ... ...price! Firstly it is very well located as it is part of the Exeter Service area at Junction 30 of the M5 which is the main route into Devon and Cornwall from just about anywhere else in the country. The actual address is: Moto Service Area M5 Motorway, Sandygate, Exeter, EX2 7HF The fact that it is located at the service area means that if you are using it as a stopover on a longer journey, you don't have to worry about wasting time trying ...

A Bad Nights Sleep at Plymouth Travelodge
Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Lumpy Beds, Noisy
...having never stayed in a Travelodge before, but had heard that they were a cheap alternative.
~~Price~~
I have to say that I was quite shocked at how much one night would cost as I have stayed in cheaper and more luxurious places than this before. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a room anywhere else in Plymouth for that night due to various events that were taking place in the city. The Travelodge we eventually looked at didn’t have any standard ... ...payment.
~~Location~~
The Travelodge is in a great location within Plymouth, although it also has some downsides to this particular location. The hotel is right in the middle of the town centre - a stones throw away from all the shop and is located at the back of Union Street (main street running through the town). This means pretty much everything you would want to see is within walking distance.
However the downside to this location is that ...

Friendly Service - a real gem of a hotel
Advantages: Really convenient location, Good value from all aspects, excells in quality, service and food Disadvantages: none
...sleep after staying at the Best Western Tiverton Hotel. The room was absolutely spotless, the staff very friendly - and facilities surprised me with free Wifi, a printer, flat screen tv, desk/office area and an exceptionally comfy bed. Food and service in the restaurant couldn't be faulted - 2 courses and a pint for under £20. Very convenient location. This hotel is a hidden gem and comes highly recommended ...

Wrong personality for hospitality coupled with dingy family suite
Advantages: The precooked breakfast was ok, Kingsbridge Inn - excellent pub/restaurant Disadvantages: Unfriendly man in the BnB, Tourist office shut on Sunday in long weekend
We chose the Old Forge in Totnes because it looked like a quaint old building that had been developed into a comfortable BnB. The man who greeted us when we arrived was civil but was not a friendly character (which you would expect in a quaint BnB).
As 3 single adults we booked the family suite with 3 separate beds. It was pokey and the ensuite door was more like a cupboard door so the other 2 could hear everything going on in the bathroom! Quite ... ...to a relaxing sleep in the next day but discovered at 7am that we were right above the kitchen with the sound of dishes crashing onto the benchtop, water running through pipes in the hollow walls in our room, and the strong smell of food cooking. So much for our sleep in!
We decided that we could not put up with this for another 2 mornings (we had booked a 3 night stay over the August bank holiday weekend) so I approached the man after breakfast ...
