Sampsons
Advantages: Friendly, excellent service, comfortable and good location Disadvantages: None!
...our very enjoyable stay at Sampsons Farn Country Hotel. We loved the setting - wonderful walks and great locaion. The room was very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a fantastic meal one evening in the restaurant - compliments to the chef. We have only ever seen food prepared that looked anything like we had the pleasure of eating, and that was on TV but to eat it as well was something ...

Coombe cross Hotel - a trip into the 1970's
Advantages: Close to some points of interest Disadvantages: Not geared up for younger families
...listening monitors and family friendliness. Coombe cross failed us personally on all counts. When we arrived there was no cot despite this being outlined as a prerequisite, even after phoning ahead mid-journey to double check it was ready for our sleeping 1 year old the sole cot on the premises was in use, so my daughter waitied in the car, at 10pm, until one arrived. At breakfast we were hastily informed that for mealtimes they only had one high-chair ... ...of being there first - so fingers crossed we didnt want to eat at the same times!! As for the monitor they advertise as having available so that parents can have a relaxing meal in the restaurant - they didn't exist as we requested the use of this "facility"...so rather than a relaxing romantic dinner for 2, I went out for take-away pizza which we ate in the room, quietly and in darkeness, so as not to disturb the sleeping kids
From our perspetive ...

Go west!
Advantages: inexpensive and convenient Disadvantages: the bed!
My parents live in Dawlish and, I don't know whether they were trying to tell us something, but the moment my sisters and I had all left home, they promptly sold the family home and moved into a one bedroom flat! It's lovely for them, but it does mean that every time we want to come and visit we need to find accommodation elsewhere. After having tried a few other options, we now seem to have settled on the Exeter Travelodge as our place to stay when ... ...price! Firstly it is very well located as it is part of the Exeter Service area at Junction 30 of the M5 which is the main route into Devon and Cornwall from just about anywhere else in the country. The actual address is: Moto Service Area M5 Motorway, Sandygate, Exeter, EX2 7HF The fact that it is located at the service area means that if you are using it as a stopover on a longer journey, you don't have to worry about wasting time trying ...

A Bad Nights Sleep at Plymouth Travelodge
Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Lumpy Beds, Noisy
...having never stayed in a Travelodge before, but had heard that they were a cheap alternative.
~~Price~~
I have to say that I was quite shocked at how much one night would cost as I have stayed in cheaper and more luxurious places than this before. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a room anywhere else in Plymouth for that night due to various events that were taking place in the city. The Travelodge we eventually looked at didn’t have any standard ... ...payment.
~~Location~~
The Travelodge is in a great location within Plymouth, although it also has some downsides to this particular location. The hotel is right in the middle of the town centre - a stones throw away from all the shop and is located at the back of Union Street (main street running through the town). This means pretty much everything you would want to see is within walking distance.
However the downside to this location is that ...

Friendly Service - a real gem of a hotel
Advantages: Really convenient location, Good value from all aspects, excells in quality, service and food Disadvantages: none
...sleep after staying at the Best Western Tiverton Hotel. The room was absolutely spotless, the staff very friendly - and facilities surprised me with free Wifi, a printer, flat screen tv, desk/office area and an exceptionally comfy bed. Food and service in the restaurant couldn't be faulted - 2 courses and a pint for under £20. Very convenient location. This hotel is a hidden gem and comes highly recommended ...
