Local, cheap and convenient
Advantages: Cheap, cosy and friendly family run hotel. Disadvantages: Views and parking limited
I must say that this hotel was a bargain and well worth it!
I found this hotel by looking on www.laterooms.com (this website is great!). All other hotels in Plymouth were either too expensive or too far away from the city centre of Plymouth. This hotel cost just £47.50 a night for a double room which included breakfast and private bathroom. The parking was quite difficult to park in but easy to find. You have to access it via a back lane, however ... ...spaces for about 5/6 cars and a few more spaces on the lane itself. This parking was reasonably secure. The hotel is quite easy to find as long as you have some sort of map in front of you. Its on a main road andits bright blue colour stands out from the rest of the street.
The location of this hotel is actually only a 5 minute walk from town and the train station. There is a bit of a hill but nothing too harsh. There is a bus stop just a few yards ...

Royal Fleet Club experience
Advantages: None that I can think of Disadvantages: Cramped, scruffy, noisy and bad food
Arrived here after 5 hour drive from London. Very hard to imagine poorer value for money or facilities. Grubby and very cramped double room. Cigarette burns in blanket on rock-hard bed. Window didn't shut and curtains couldn't shut out light or noise from downstairs party, which also didn't meet at top due to being broken. Oh yes - we were banned from the hotel bar by an extremely agresssive woman because we were not part of the party. Bathroom Shower ... ...in case you forgot to bring your own. (Like us)! 'Minature' TV which just about managed 3 stations by performing acrobatics with manual set-top aerial. Shoddy attempt at amateur decorating with blue paint dripping from walls onto white paintwork. The 'Last Straw' was breakfast where at no time were ALL the ingredients of the so called cooked breakfast assembled at any one time! This necessitated queueing for a grim and greasy breakfast which had ...

Clean
Advantages: Good Road links Disadvantages: Sometimes noisey
...you would expect of the Premier Travel Inn. The rooms are of a reasonable size, and all rooms are within a short walk of the restaurant, bar and car park. Considering how close the rooms are to the restaurant and bar I found there to be very little noise from them. The communal areas (corridors & stair wells) could do with a little bit of updating, in my opinion they have seen better days. The location of the inn has both positives and negatives, ... ...into Exeter and the Motorway, however this also means that there can sometimes be a lot of noise. Not only is there noise from passing traffic, but also from aircraft departing and arriving at the local airport. Thankfully it only is in peak periods that I found the noise to be an issue. Overall a pleasant stay. I would use the inn again. ...

Go west!
Advantages: inexpensive and convenient Disadvantages: the bed!
My parents live in Dawlish and, I don't know whether they were trying to tell us something, but the moment my sisters and I had all left home, they promptly sold the family home and moved into a one bedroom flat! It's lovely for them, but it does mean that every time we want to come and visit we need to find accommodation elsewhere. After having tried a few other options, we now seem to have settled on the Exeter Travelodge as our place to stay when ... ...price! Firstly it is very well located as it is part of the Exeter Service area at Junction 30 of the M5 which is the main route into Devon and Cornwall from just about anywhere else in the country. The actual address is: Moto Service Area M5 Motorway, Sandygate, Exeter, EX2 7HF The fact that it is located at the service area means that if you are using it as a stopover on a longer journey, you don't have to worry about wasting time trying ...

A Bad Nights Sleep at Plymouth Travelodge
Advantages: Good location Disadvantages: Lumpy Beds, Noisy
...having never stayed in a Travelodge before, but had heard that they were a cheap alternative.
~~Price~~
I have to say that I was quite shocked at how much one night would cost as I have stayed in cheaper and more luxurious places than this before. Unfortunately we couldn’t find a room anywhere else in Plymouth for that night due to various events that were taking place in the city. The Travelodge we eventually looked at didn’t have any standard ... ...payment.
~~Location~~
The Travelodge is in a great location within Plymouth, although it also has some downsides to this particular location. The hotel is right in the middle of the town centre - a stones throw away from all the shop and is located at the back of Union Street (main street running through the town). This means pretty much everything you would want to see is within walking distance.
However the downside to this location is that ...
