I don't think you'll get the Title unless well your alternative, just like this pub.
The Dev - as it is affectionately known by it's clientele is a long standing Goth Pub in Camden, London.
It even has it's own website now!! http://devcamden.co.uk/
This and Slimenight were the reasons I chose to come to London.
It's the perfect place to meet pre-club or just after or before a weekend shopping trip to Camden, perhaps after work - if you're into the Goth Scene in London - your bound to bump into someone you know - or meet somepeople you didn't know before.
MISAPPREHENSIONS: Sub-cultures do of course attract the stranger of the community and although you feel you may have met a particularly strange Goth before rest assured we are quite normal! The Dev celebrates that acceptance - you are who you are - and if you are a goth you really will feel at home here. I might add that I met a friend in there just a few weeks ago that although he has a love of Goth music does not look like your traditional Goth - they let him in fine - it's about attitude really - if you look like you're there to mock the Goths then 'no' they won't let you in. If look like a normal friendly person your probably fine!
DRINKS: The Dev doesn't sell the type of beer I'd usually like to appreciate - the closest to a decent ale here is Newcastle Brown - but if your fine with the average larger, cider, spirits then you'll be fine. Most people come here to meet up and chat, enjoy the atmosphere - to not be stared at for five minutes etc. not to enjoy the beer. The drinks are cheap though!
FOOD: The best pork stratchings in town and a few bags of crisps is about all it has to offer - but - well I don't go there for a meal.
SERVICE: The friendly Dr Death is usually serving and if you buy a pint of guiness he'll put a lovely pentagram or skull and cross bones in the top for you!! Now that's better than a Shamrock anyday.
TOILETS: These use to be worse - they have improved. They've been painted and everything - I don't really see the problem - as long as you can do what you need to do who cares what they look like . It's a pub! There use to be a time you couldn't use them because they were always flooded - i've never seen this under the new management.
LOCATION: 33 Kentish Town Road, come out of Camden Town tube, take the exit on your right and turn right out of the station keep going past the chippy, the newsagents and the pub, then the carwash and then the Dev!
CONCLUSION: If your a Goth or a friendly alternative type - pop in it'll surprise you. If not, then it's probably not you bag - but hey it's not trying to be anything it's not.

I am definitely not alternative, but I enjoyed reading about your meeting place. Wonder what was the origin of Goths. ?
