A great trip - thanks to Dial-A-Flight and Korean Air (and a few tips)

We just returned from visiting friends and family in New-Zealand. We had a great time travelling around and catching up with everyone but what topped the holiday off was the fact that our travelling to Auckland and back was so hassle-free! This is all thanks to Oscar - our booking agent at Dial-A-Flight.
We booked 7 months ahead and as I am sure everybody does, searched the internet in depth to find the best available price for our selected dates. It appeared that Dial-A-Flight advertised the best prices and although hesitant about using agents we thought to give them a call.
Oscar was very personal, helpful and put up with all my questions. They didn't have the offer available as advertised online as this is only an indication, but he quoted me the next best prices. I saw the Korean Air flight on other websites but didn't even consider them as there is a 17 hour stopover on the way back. But by talking to Oscar he informed me that Korean Air included stopover accommodation, transfers and meals for this in Seoul (included in the flight price). I never would've known that if just booked online. We never knew where we were going to stay for the night as Korean Air makes that decision based upon their selected hotel availability but Oscar informed us that this should be a decent hotel (at least 4 star) We decided to go with this option and Oscar was very efficient, patient and friendly even though it was the end of his shift on a Sunday late afternoon.
We had the e-tickets confirmation the next day and throughout the 7 months Oscar stayed in touch by email - trying to prebook seats for us etc (although Korean Air doesn't allow this).
Without confirming our flights directly with Korean Air, we checked in with no problems. The economy seats was very comfortable with good leg roomand they had plenty of in-flight entertainment e.g.movies.games etc. Although on the second flight we were on a different plane with less entertainment but it was still comfortable. Very quiet landing - my husband is an anxious flyer and didn't even realise we touched down!
Seoul is a beautiful and modern airport and they have lockers which you can store your hand luggage in while you shop in Duty Free (just ask at the information desk). You don't see any "Souvenirs" - it's all brand name products and designer items in the shops. There is a great relaxation area upstairs!
On the way back again no problems with check in (although they are strict on the baggage so make sure of your weight) but they did let us get away with about 2kg extra each. Don't think they look at your combined baggage weight they do indeed look at it individually - this is just a tip - not to fault them. At Auckland they could put our luggage straight through to Heathrow which was very convenient and gave us our boarding passes in advance. For the stopover we needed to go through immigration and we went straight to the transit desk who had our names, gave us our meal vouchers and directed us to the transfer bus. We were booked into the Hyatt Regency which is only 3 minutes away from the airport and it was modern and very comfortable with great service and a very tasty breakfast! It was very organised and very refreshing before our next 13 hour flight.
Korean Air are strict on fluids in your hand luggage (you get a 20cmx20cm clear bag each in which you need to put fluids of not more than 10ml per item). Bear in mind that if you stopover (and actually need to leave the airport) that you will need to go through security again on the way back with hand luggage so we were not able to purchase liquer in Auckland.
Food on Korean Air is also pretty good although we aren't really the pumpkin porridge type (luckily they always have a selection) - but this adds to the experience. Very friendly air hostesses.
"Bold" - All in all a wonderful trip, well supported by Oscar from Dial-A-Flight and completed by very efficient and comfortable Korean Air flights - all for a very reasonable and competitive price. Many thanks! We could recommend them and we would happily use them again in the future.

Dial A Flight - review by anthmack

Advantages: 5 star service, efficient in the delivery of tickets, Some really good deals (cheap flight, and holiday deals- hence their name), Website is fast, clear, and precise with a huge array of different travel ideas (with a very useful search facility)
Disadvantages: Cannot book online, and therefore have to call their "local rate" telephone number (their staff however are very helpful anyway, so not really a big problem), Can become a lengthy phone call if no availablity (however staff will usually do their best)
