This is the cheapest of the Disney hotels which lies in the Disney area so includes the free 10 minute shuttle bus to and from the parks and the station. The entire hotel is Mexican themed and looks like it's located in the middle of the desert with sand all on the ground and sandy coloured buildings. The rooms are decorated Mexican style with sandy colours and green and red decorations.
Check in was easy and quick - they gave us our room keys, park passes and a timetable for the shuttle buses and off we went to find our room. The accommodation is set out like a little village with roads going through them and about 20 rooms in each block rather than just a big hotel block. The room was great - we had 2 double beds next to each other, a good size TV (obviously with the Disney channel 24/7), desk, telephone, open wardrobe, a fairly big bathroom with a bath and shower. We had 2 huge windows which kept the room lovely and cool. The only problem with the room was that we only had a few hangers (only 4 I think) and we asked for some more at reception but they told us we couldn't have any more because you could only have a certain amount per room.
The dining area was huge with plenty of tables and a big buffet area. Continental breakfast is included in the hotel price and runs from 7am to about 11am. Even though you don't get hot food with the breakfast there was plenty enough with the continental breakfast to keep you happy - fruit, croissants, muffins, toast, loads of cereals, cheeses, meats, juices and hot drinks. The queue to get into the restaurant is always really huge early on, because everyone gets up early to get to the parks, but it goes down really quickly. After about 8.30/9 the queue quietens down and you can get straight in. The restaurant opens up in the evening for dinner for a Mexican themed buffet. This was quite pricy at roughly £16 for an adult and £8 for a child which includes one drink but water is also free. As well as the main Mexican type food such as nachos, rice, chilli con carne, etc., there was also other food for those who don't like Mexican such as chicken and chips. They also had a load of lovely desserts that even if you were stuffed from the mains you wouldn't be able to resist!
At set times they have Disney characters in the reception or dining area who you can take photos with.
There's also a bar with musicentertainment and a shop with all the Disney goodies and a luggage room to keep your suitcases on your last day.
