This year we have been fortunate to visit both Disneyland Paris and Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando.
On first impressions the Paris Theme Park and Orlando's equivalent are much the same. Though laid out almost identically, the Paris park seems to cover a larger expanse of land, noticably at first by the Main Street in Paris being much longer leading up to Sleeping Beauty's Castle. The main street is lined with shops which all seem to be selling the same merchandise, and guess what that is? Yep, Disney mugs, Disney T-shirts, Disney you name it.
The main advantage of the Orlando experience is that you are not limited to one Park. The choice for entertainment is collossal and you will see things that will take your breath away. I still ponder on how they made many things possible. All Orlando Disney parks are cleverly linked by monorail and bus and it is easy to get around but beware, you will be doing a lot of walking in each park.
If you want some fun and want to be amazed, go to Orlando. If you can't afford that, Paris is the nearest thing to it.
