I went to disneyland paris several years ago when it was eurodisney and been back several times since.
There are several ways to get there.
Firstly you can fly and arrive at charles de gaulle airport which you can then pick up the free shuttle bus straight to disney which takes about 30-40 mins.
You can also get the eurostar, we did this once. Personally i think this is probably the most convenient option. We picked up the train from waterloo then stayed on it until it arrived slap bang in the middle of disneyland.
Also there is the ferry. We have done this too from dover to calais. Once in calais it is about a 2 and a half to 3 hour drive. Although it is a fairly straightforward journey and driving on the opposite side wasnt that difficult. Also you have the option to stop at the hypermarkets in calais and grab some bargains!
Once there you can stay in a hotel outside the park, many of which disneyland have links with so you get a good deal.
Or you can stay in the heart of the magic. I have stayed at the santa fe, which has a mexican theme, the newport bay which has a nautical theme amd the my travels explorer , which is one of the new ones and accomodates larger groups .
The other hotels are Disneyland Hotel, Hotel New York, , Sequoia Lodge, Davy Crockett Ranch and the Hotel Cheyenne. There are now a host of other, non-Disney themed hotels on the site. They are the Dream Castle Hotel, Holiday Inn, Residence Val d’Europe, and Kyriad hotel all at varies prices to accomodate all budgets.
The park is split into different lands discoveryland, frontierland, adventureland,fantasyland and main street usa(great for all you shoppers)
Each land has plenty to offer for all ages.
There is also walt disney studios. As the name suggests it is a park dedicated to the films that have made disney famous. You can see how cartoons are made, see the props for films such as 101 dalmations, see how they do all those amazing stunts plus there are some fantastic rides.
As well as the rides and shows there are parades all day, characters walking around the park available for autographs and photos and some great fireworks displays later in the year.
If you go at xmas there are winter wonderland parades, santa makes an appearance and it snows everyday in main street.
The disney village is full of shops and restaurants to fit every budget including macdonalds . rainforest cafe and planet hollywood.

My children range from 1 to 12 and they all love it(husband too!)
It has something for everyone.
All staff speak english so no need to take a crash course in french.
Around this time of year until about april you can get some great deals too such as kids free or an extra night free.
I am currently in the process of booking our next trip.
