Disneyland is situated in the countryside, about a one hour drive from Charles De Gaux airport. If driving from the airport to the resort, it can be a little tricky to find, with many winding roads and few landmarks. If travelling on the Eurostar, the shuttle actually takes you to within three minutes walking distance of the park entrance and closesthotels. The whole of Disneyland is breatakingly dreamy, a true fairytale land for all ages. Before you arrive at the actual park and huge pink trademark castle, there is a long road filled with a variety of helpful little shops. As well as the expected sweet and toy shop, there is a handy little camera shop, who will copy your memory card onto a disc for about €5 if you need to free up some space. The park itself is divided into seperate themed areas, which makes it all incredibly easy to navigate. The rides at Disney are totally family orientated, and mostly suitable for small children as well as older kids. The rides are like nothing you would find at any normal theme park, they are more of an experience than a ride. Waiting times for any ride can be about an hour, which is incredibly frustrating if you have small children in tow, although fast passes are available to buy seperately. With a fast pass you can 'book' onto the ride, then return and walk striaght on an hour later. Unfortuantely, the fast pass can only be used on one ride at a time so some waiting will still be nessescary. In addition to the rides at Disney, there are are plenty of fun shows to attend throughout the day, I would recommend taking the trouble to attend all of these if possible, as they are entertaining and enjoyable. Twice during the day and evening there is a fantastic 'parade'. I won't say any more to spoil it if you haven't been before, but i will say arrive early to get a good spot. The food inside the park is incredibly expensive and not very good quality for your money. There is a picnic area where you can eat your own food, so if this is a possibility for you i would recommend it. If you cannot take your own food there are several food stands just outside Disney's entrance. Here you can buy an enormous pancake, rolled and filled with a filling of your choice for about €5, a great way to cheaply fill a hole. In the evening there are several dinner shows that you can attend for a price. They are generally very expensive, but a good experience nethertheless. The wild west show, which includes a 'cowboy' style dinner, is a superb show with horses and a merry atmosphere. Eating in the village at night is very expensive, i would allow €100 per family of four if you want a bottle of wine and and a starter or pudding. Overall, Disney is truly a place where dreams come true. Nothing can compare to the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. If you're thinking of taking a trip just go ahead and book it, you'll have the time of your life. If you've already booked to go, congratualtions, you're about to experience a dream.
