The Riverside Court Hotel, Sheffield

Advantages: Near City Centre, Good value for money, River view
Disadvantages: On a busy road

The Riverside Court Hotel is situated just outside Sheffield City Centre within a few minutes walk of the main markets and one of the main Shopping areas of the City. It occupies a prominent position on the corner of Nursery Street, where it meets the Wicker. Historically the Wicker is an area of the City that was once a thriving part of Sheffield with lots of Shops and Businesses. Today it is rather run down, although improvements are currently underway, and most of the businesses in this area are now take aways and other fast food outlets. The Riverside Court Hotel actually occupies quite an enviable location at the top end of the Wicker. It sits on Lady's Bridge next to the Exchange Brewery Works with views overlooking the River Don and the new Apartment Blocks on the opposite banks of this River. Lady's Bridge was built in ...

Riverside Hotel Colchester

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Cleanliness or lack of it

This hotel is awful. It is really rundown and not very well kept. On arrival there was nobody on reception to greet customers and you had to phone a number to speak to anyone. The bedroom itself was filthy, the valance on the bed was completely stained, there was cigarette ash in the teabag bowl, it was disgusting. To top if off they took the full amount off our credit card before we arrived, then packed our belongings while we were at my sisters graduation as they had messed up the booking. They moved personal belongings, monies and passports and would only talk to us over the phone about the situation. Breakfast was just about edible, if they hadn't taken the full amount off the credit card we would have left straight away.Avoid this hotel at all costs ...

Review of Riverside Hotel, Colchester

a great hotel - would stay again!

Advantages: lovely views of the river and very good facilities
Disadvantages: none

I stayed in the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok back in 2006. It has probably changed a little now but, all the same the information I can give will be useful to anybody thinking about staying there. The nightly rate at the moment starts at approximately £60 per room per night for a superior room type. The location: The hotel is set on the edge of the Chao Phraya river which is the huge river that runs through the city of Bangkok. It is a bit out from the main shopping areas and the main hub of the nightlife but, it has a stunning river location so obviously if you want this type of location then it is to be expected that you wouldn't be on top of other attractions. Overall though it only takes takes 10 minutes to get to Bangkok's main area for shopping and nightlife so not very far at all. The hotel has been built on ground ...
