And that isnt much folks! But, one cannot complain about what is essentially a bargain, stop over hotel located in Liverpool. This hotel cost only £41 per room per night, and when you consider each room is equipped with a double bed with a bunk bed over it therefore sleeping 3, that works out to be a very cheap per person per night rate.
The rooms are what you would expect in a hotel of this nature, very basic but most importantly clean and comfortable. On arrival we did joke about the size of the room, be warned they are extremely small. I took great pleasure in demonstrating how I could be peeing on the toilet, with my feet in the shower(yes thats right) whilst resting an arm in the sink all at the same time as watching the TV located in the "far" corner of the room. Hey at least they have sky, even if it is limited to around 10 channels. In reality however the size of the room did not annoy us in the slightest.
All rooms come with an ensuite shower room, no baths here, which was admitedly, a huge disappointment for myself as I really enjoy taking baths in hotels?! The rooms are cleaned and tidied up daily with fresh towels and bed linen, and there is also the mandatory complimentary tea/coffee in each room. A big bonus for the ladies reading is the hairdryer in the room, its shockingly very good and with 3 mirrors (including one full length) in the room its a great place to get ready before paiting the town red! We were also lucky enough to get a room with a view out the back over the docks area, a pleasant sight at night.
That hopefully covers the room itself. The communal area of the hotel is just off to the left of reception and is a very pleasant room. It has a small, somewhat expensive bar which doesnt have the greatest selection ever. The same could be said about the food available, although it is very pleasant to eat the price compared to portion size is puzzling! This is where breakfast is served in the morning, it has a larger screen tv here showing football matches etc and has internet access. The staff here are very helpful, if not overly friendly, and there is plenty of tourist information available in the reception area.
Perhaps the greatest attraction for many to this hotel is the location. Its about a 15 minute walk into the city centre, appox £3-3.50 in a taxi. It is also very near to a number of tourist attractions and Albert dock within a few minutes walk. And for those who simply can't do without it, there is a McDonalds restaurant right across the street. If after gambling with your health by eating a Big Mac meal you fancy a real flutter why not pop next door into the Leo Casino? Its up to you how you spend your stay in the city of culture!
All in all this was a good budget hotel. Granted there is not a lot going on here but what do you expect for such a cheap establishment? You can't have it all for £41 per night!
