If you hire from Dollar at SanfordAirportFlorida be very very careful and insist on bringing back the car with a full tank of petrol or else they will precharge you for a tank of petrol at silly rates.I said I would bring the car back with a full tank of petrol but was told no I had to bring it back empty ,which is very hard to do ,so I was charged $78.00 for a tank of petrol -this was $4.08 a gallon ,the dearest petrol in orlando was less then $3.00 a gallon .I complained by e-mail to the customer services and was told to bring the car back full and they refunded the petrol charge to my card._It cost me to fill the tank at a garage outside the Airport $42.00 ,a bit different from $78.00 ,also as it is very hard to judge in order to bring back the car empty as Dollar wanted me to do .I would assume a lot of cars arrive back with a lot of petrol in the tank - which I assume dollar will charge the next cutomers for.not a bad little earner for them.Also the car I had upgraded to a Luxury Chyrisler C300 was dirty and never had a clean from previous renter and I had to buy windscreen cleaner as it was empty. On returning to England I checked the Dollar site for it terms and condition which states you can bring the car back with a full tank .So maybe they have rules just for English visitors.I have since sent 2 e-mails to customer services asking for their comments on these complaints and haven't had the curtesey of a reply .be careful.

We had a similar experience at the Dollar in Washington DC. We unpacked the kids and luggage only for them to tell us the tank wasn't full. It was only about a gallon or two short of being full. They want us to take the car back out to the gas station and fill it to the top. It was only when my husband asked for the manager that they backed down.

Car hire companies find so many ways to make more money. Alamo is pretty hassle free usually. Dan.

You dont state much about the company or details of how much the actual car hire was etc. It is more of a rant rather than a review in my opinion
