Dollywood is very much Dolly Parton's, you can tell from the very outset. As soon as we parked and took the trolley to the entrance (it's a big parking lot!!) We were told to remember area DE, where we parked our car, as Dolly's Earrings. Saying that, our trolley driver was funny and friendly and it made even that trip across the parking lot fun.
The rides are mixed, some for the young and the timid and others for the older and braver. I won't go into the rides, you can see them all for yourself on the Dollywood website. One thing I was impressed by was that instead of your usual disinterested teenager running the rides, they were run by a very efficient group of senior citizens. It was also good to see local craftsman in some of the shops creating and selling their handicrafts.
My kids managed to get onto 6 rides during the course of the day. It was the middle of the summer and often the lines were long as is usual with any theme park. We were disappointed that Splash Country was on a separate site to the theme park and cost an extra fee to get in.
I'd recommend Dollywood if you are either an amusement park or a Dolly Parton enthusiast. It was pleasant enough, but not amazing.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Sorry for the low rating but I found this a little difficult to follow, I think a lot more explanation is needed. Tim gives good advice.

Sorry for the low rating, but writing down "check the website out to see the rides" and not telling which ones you went on goes against the point of writing the review in the first place. Experience of the place and the rides that you went on would be considered part of the review as this is essentially one of the reasons as to why you went there. For example is ther an height limit, age restriction and so on. My advice would be to have a look around at other peoples reviews of a similar theme park, that way you can see how structure, detail and contents are placed together. Remember 90% is personal experience of what , why, where, when and how you went there. If you decide to re-write please let me know via my guest book, will be more than happy to read. Hope this helps, Tim
