Stay at the White House - the London White House

Advantages: Good value, immaculate, 4 Star
Disadvantages: Language problems

I stayed at the Melia White House hotel in June 2008, on my first trip to London. Finding our way from Heathrow T5 to the hotel, negotiating the underground, was surprisingly easy, as the hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk of Great Portland St underground station, just outside leafy Regents Park. Warren St and Regents Park underground stations are also within 10 minutes walk in either direction. The hotel may not look a lot from the exterior, however step inside and the reception is bright, airy and spacious. The reception area is immaculate and covered in marble, and expensive looking antiques. The hotel has 581 rooms over 8 floors (283 Classic rooms, 158 Superior rooms, 28 Triple rooms, 62 Executive Level rooms, 42 Junior Suites, 2 Master Suites, 1 Residential Suite and 5 Disabled rooms). We were booked into a Classic ...

Say NO! to closing the London Butterfly House

Advantages: Fantastic Display
Disadvantages: Bit hot and stuffy!

Me and my girlfriend took a trip on Wednesday to Syon Park (based in Brentford, Middlesex) and decided to pay a visit to the London Butterfly House which is on the grounds of Syon Park close to the car park. It cost us £5.25 each to get in which I dont think is bad at all! and they give you a ticket which is valid for the whole day so you can come and go as many times as you like for the day. I wasn't sure what to expect but was amazed upon entry, It seemed sort of like a bird avary, and looked like a little jungle. There were small bridges with little streams running beneath and had several little twist's and turns leading to different area's. As we walked in the butterfly were flying everywhere, hundred's maybe even thousands it truely looked like a mini rainforest. The colours of the butterfly were vibrant and the species ...

Advantages: Great story from team that made "Some Like It Hot"
Disadvantages: None - watch it

In ?The Apartment? Jack Lemmon plays hapless insurance clerk C.C.Baxter who works for a big, impersonal insurance company in New York. He made the mistake once of lending someone at work his apartment and now he has to lend it to department heads for their extra-marital affairs. He just can?t say no to and so spends many evenings at work and even a night in the park while they enjoy his apartment. It makes him the most sought after employee in the company and arouses the suspicion of HR boss (Fred MacMurray). Baxter thinks he?s for the high jump but instead finds himself promoted. You see, MacMurray?s also having an affair and needs an apartment. Baxter thinks he?s fallen on his feet jobwise and almost lands a date with Fran (Shirley MacLaine) the lift operator he has a crush on. It all goes wrong Christmas Eve though when he ...
