I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Rome at the Domus Inn, and am extremely happy. Domus Inn is a great little bed and breakfast in a very good location. It might not be right next to the Colosseum but with an array of buses that stop around the corner taking you to several key locations in the city, its all you need, The service is incredibly friendly and your breakfast is brought to you every morning. On arrival a map was drawn on for us to aid our trip and amazing (affordable) resturaunts recommended. The rooms are comfortable and clean, we had a standard double room with a shower, which was very spacious and the standard of the bathroom was very high. We paid 267 Euros for our 3 night stay which I thought was great value for money.
The hotels on a road so is noisy at night but you will unlikely find a hotel that isn't in central rome! Domus Inn is located in an apartment building on the 5th floor, the elevator is a little sketchy (especially if like me you fear them) but the walk up the stairs is not unbearable.
The Hotel is a short stroll from Villa Borghese which is a beautiful park, and you could walk to most of the main sights and the termini from the hotel if you wanted too, but with buses to The Vatican, Piazza Barberini (close to The Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain) and the Termini you don't have to!
I had heard that the ice cream shop opposite the hotel is amazing so was upset when we found it closed until February, there are lots of restaurants very close to the hotel and some a short walk from the Piazza Fiume. I recommend Brancaleone's on Via Sicilia, they do great pizza and pasta at a really reasonable price. Also Friends Bar was a great little trendy cafe, come bar at night, offering really good, really cheap coffees.
I will return to the Domus Inn if ever I visit Rome again as it really aided our trip, sightseeing and gastronomic adventures.
Domus Inn is located in an elegant building in the historic centre of Rome, just a few minutes from Termini Station and is near all the most interesting artistic and cultural sites in the city, which you can reach by foot in just a few minutes. The rooms of Domus Inn are welcoming and pleasant, ideal to relax and rest after a day spent out in the open. The furniture in the rooms inspires particular warmth and elegance, sensations also transmitted by the precious material such as velvet and taffeta used in the curtains, bed covers and table settings, and such as the chestnut wood furniture and the parquet on the floor.
