Don Camillo, Nice

Advantages: Fountains, Sea, Sun, Mountains and all for free
Disadvantages: Pebbles, French men who think they are it

...Nice or Nizza as the locals know it. You've probably seen photos etc. I stayed here for four months it must have been about five years ago as part of my studies for European Business Studies with the University of Hertfordshire. I lived in Nice for four months as a student, in Valence (next to Lyons) working for six months and then about 3 years ago I lived in Caen in Normandy for four months. Each of these locations are so different as you would expect from France, but Nice remains my favourite memory, probably due to the large amount of free time that I had being a student (12 hours a week study - lol!). I set off from London Victoria bus station via coach, to be my home for the next 24 hours (don't do it!). There were only 3 of us on the entire coach however, so I just spread myself over 4 seats and tried to sleep when applicable... Read review

Advantages: Well located, friendly staff, spacious rooms

...It's been a while since I wrote a review and I had said to myself that I would wait until after my holiday to put fingers to keyboard once again. After sunning ourselves for 2 weeks in Magaluf, Majorca it's taken me a while to get back into the swing of everyday life in Blighty but I think I'm almost there (worst luck). Well it's been almost a week since we got back and so I thought it was about time I put my review writing cap on once again and what better to review than the hotel we stayed in on our holiday. The Don Juan Hotel is part of the Hoteles Saint Michel group and is a 3 star hotel situated in the quieter area of Magaluf. It was built in 1972 and extensively renovated during the winter of 1999 and has 182 rooms in total (161 twins and 21 single) which stretch over seven floors. Advantages: close to beach
Disadvantages: Can be noisy at night

...outdoor freshwater swimming pool, with separate children's section, which was very nice and they did tend to keep it quite clean. The sun terraces were also a good size and were furnished with plenty of sun loungers and parasols ********KIDS********** There is a children’s playground and mini-club and they also had pool and table tennis tables. *********ENTERTAINMENT********** There was a good programme of daytime sporting activities (pool games, archery, aerobics) organised each day. These were arranged by their resident team. I did enjoy the evening entertainment, there was a variety of live music, cabaret and other professional shows several times each week. ************FOOD************ The food was definately basic but then again it is only a 3* hotel.
