Weymouth definately has something for all the family. A seaside resort which is totaly second to none, Just imagine a Big safe beach and many traditional attractions. If you head towards the town you will discover the heritage and picturesque harbour.

It was approx. 200 years ago that Weymouth became known as a resort this was after it was visited by george III, since then the town has maintained its ever growing popularity. A absolute mix of the old and new. A must when visiting Weymouth is a leisurely stroll alond the esplanade, or if you are not keen on walking a nice ride on the road train.

Weymouth's glory iss it beautiful beach with golden sands and award winning facilities. You will be pleased to know Weymouth is one of the warmest and driest parts of the west country, which makes the golden sands a strong magnet. Along the beach you will find many attractions which include Punch and Judy, donkey rides, trampolines, pedaloes and rides, swing boats and one not to miss is the sand sculptures made by the sand modeller. The beach, is regularly cleaned, early in the morning you will see workmen on there state of the art beach cleaning motor keeping it in top condition.

Weymouths 17th century harbour is another attraction not to be missed it has a hugh history behind it and offers a huge variety of nautical interests which range from fishing boats and pleasure ferries and not forgetting the tall ship race.

In Weymouth you will never be short of a place to eat, food choices range from character pubs and restaurants to bistros and not forgetting the main one a good fish and chip shop. nothing beats an evening stoll along the beach and into the harbour with a fresh bag of chips covered in salt and vinegar.

Weymouth also hase a good range of shopping and boutiques of which you will find the perfect gift, to remind you or the perfect holiday. Weymouth.

If interested in history of the world wars I would visit Knot he Fort if at all possible, and take a camera and plenty of film for the views on top of the gun emplacements. The underground tunnels are full of interesting museum exhibits also.
