Dorsett Far East Hotel, Tsuen Wan

Advantages: In a nice resort, quietish area, basic but clean and comfortable.
Disadvantages: The evening meals were poor

...Our family group of 7, myself, my husband, our son (aged 8), my parents, sister and niece (aged 10) booked between us three rooms for two weeks at the 3 star Hotel Clumba Mar in Ca'n Picafort, in the North East of Majorca for the last two weeks of June 06. We chose this hotel because we liked the description of both the hotel and the resort in the Thompson's Sky Tours brochure as being quiet and family friendly as we were looking for a relaxing break and hoping to avoid being kept awake by local nightlife. We also got an excellent deal at the time of booking in January paying just under £1000 2 weeks half board for myself and my husband with our son getting a 'kids go free' place. Advantages: beautiful relaxed luxurious surroundings

...Stayed here 9th December 2006. Booked a Saturday night here for my husband's 39th birthday as a treat (for both of us)! We only live about half an hour away in Chesterfield and had heard very good reports about the place. We were not disappointed. We arrived at around 4pm and after we had been shown to our 'executive room' (can't remember name but it was above the reception/conservatory area). Driving up to the Hotel, it looked spectacular as it was all decorated for Christmas - looked beautiful. We decided to leave our bags and go back down to the bar in the conservatory and have a drink before going to change for dinner. Very relaxing place - a few hours away from two 7 and 9 year old 'teenagers' at home. After dressing for dinner we went back down to the bar for a gin and tonic and to order from the fantastic menu. ...WHY DID WE BOOK THE AMBER HOTEL CHEMNITZ? Requiring a convenient hotel to stay in overnight on our return from Poland in May, we discovered the Amber Hotel whilst searching for hotels adjacent to E40 (the main East / West continental route) in the Chemnitz area. Last year we stayed in a hotel called the Drei Shwanen, previously reviewed - about five miles to the south west of here. The Amber looked perfectly situated (and easy to find) very close to a motorway junction. The fact that it was a four star hotel offering a double room on the Saturday night for a mere 68 Euros made it all the more attractive!
