I stayed here for 5 days in late November 2008. I would definately recommend. Doubletree is a Hilton hotel and you get what you expect from that brand here. There was a shuttle service from St Louis Airport, which was free, the car park was also free and they bake delicious fresh cookies behind the front desk, which they hand out liberally, also FREE. There was also an ATM machine and small selection of drinks, snacks and toiletries you could purchase.
There was a nice bar with widescreen tv and very comfortable sofas and chairs. The was also a restaurant although I didnt use it.
I booked through the American Airlines website ( AAdvantage members) and got the luxury room for $80 a night, which was around £45 based on the exchange rate when I booked which is outstanding for the hotel of this calibre. I was there over Thanksgiving ...

I recently had the task of travelling to Charlotte North Carolina on Business, my hotel of choice was the Doubletree in the Gateway Village on West Trade Street.
As with most long trips from the UK to the States you always seem to be travel tiered when you arrive. This trip was no exception. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Cab ride from the airport to the Doubletree was only a 15 minute ride and at a cost of $15. If you were planning to drive then it is not far from the freeway at all.
From the outside the hotel looks like any other but does have a clean and tidy appearance and a little class about it. It is located in the main campus of the university but don't let that put you off. There are not ...

Dealing with the highly provocative subject of homosexuality and AIDS, Philadelphia does an excellent job of disbanding many of the myths surrounding both of the subjects. Not only does Philadelphia tell a powerful story of injustice, it is also a beautifully shot film, which has many scenes which will tug at your heart strings. It also allowed Tom Hanks to demonstrate that he was more than capable of performing serious roles as he had previously been better known for his comedy roles. There were some critics who suggested that Hanks was not convincing as a homosexual, what did they expect a bloke wearing lipstick, lycra and high heals.
