I stayed here for 5 days in late November 2008. I would definately recommend. Doubletree is a Hilton hotel and you get what you expect from that brand here. There was a shuttle service from St Louis Airport, which was free, the car park was also free and they bake delicious fresh cookies behind the front desk, which they hand out liberally, also FREE. There was also an ATM machine and small selection of drinks, snacks and toiletries you could purchase.
There was a nice bar with widescreen tv and very comfortable sofas and chairs. The was also a restaurant although I didnt use it.
I booked through the American Airlines website ( AAdvantage members) and got the luxury room for $80 a night, which was around £45 based on the exchange rate when I booked which is outstanding for the hotel of this calibre. I was there over Thanksgiving and there was no extra charge for this. I earned frequent flyer miles too.
There is wireless internet access in the lobby and the use of hotel computers / fax machines etc if you didnt bring your own. There were ice machines in the corridors along with vending machines and the room had tea / coffee making facilities and a fridge, glasses and ice bucket.
The room was lovely, spacious, immaculate, had an ENORMOUS bed which was very comfortable, a sofa which also folded down into a bed if needed, a desk, chair and occasional table. Nice artwork on the walls. The bathroom was modern and nicely designed, Neutrogena toiletries were complimentary.
The room service was top class and the housekeeper knocked several times to make sure that the chambermaid was looking after us properly. The staff at the front desk were very warm, welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed my whole stay very much.
Highly recommended if you ever find yourself in St Louis.
