OVERVIEW
If you are considering a trip to Ireland, one of the most popular areas to visit is around Cork. Although I've been to Ireland almost annually since a child, I'd never visited Cork until this year. The area differs enormously from the West Coast, in that there are more rolling hills, arable farming and very reminiscent of Cornwall or Devon.
On my travels I always like to stay in nice hotels, well at least the best that I can afford, and that usually entails trawling through the various travel booking engines to see which is offering the best deal. At Easter we holidayed in Andalucia inland not on the coast. We had a hired car and did drive a bit and we also went for walks. Andalusia's mountainous and some of the area still had snow in Early April. Where ever we were it was not far away from a cork oak tree .A lot of Andalucia has man managed cork oak forests. These forests were quite dense not much light getting through the canopy. These woods not as dark as pine forest though
The cork forests we went into seemed to be well managed and some have Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, which recognizes that their forests are managed to the highest international social and environmental standards.

It is a fairly large hotel for it's location with plenty of facilities and I was looking forward to experiencing his hotel.
First impressions:
As you come down the main road from Cork airport the hotel is located on the right hand side. However to get to it you must take the exit to the left hand side which takes you over the bridge and across to the hotel. This is because the hotel is built on a slight hill. So as you first spot the hotel it actually looks quite impressive and also quite modern looking with the building of a grey colour which sounds drab but, it isn't! The car park is spread ...
